So Far So Good

When I ran out this morning to check on the filly it was still dark outside but the almost full moon helped light the way to the stall barn.

After the coming back from cleaning stalls and getting Madiera and her filly moved back into their stall I had a half an hour to get ready for the Berean office before needing to be at mom's for our walk. Ruth is still out camping so just Diane, Joan and I walked. Of course we stopped in to see the filly. She is still nursing well. So far so good. She has an umbilical hernia which more than likely was caused by that difficult birth. We won't worry about that until we know she is going to make it. Mom and I had a late start for the Berean office not leaving her house until almost 9:00 am. There was a LOT of mail today, lots of letters and lots of studies to process. Skip also had requests from some chaplains wanting extra Bible studies to give out. He got those ready while I worked on the computer entering the studies then typing in all the Bible requests. We had 59 requests and over a hundred studies and had to work until after 1:00 pm. I was so busy I didn't think to take many pictures. Kathy and Leila had so many letters to read that once the studies were all opened they asked for help.

Mom got tired of stamping the return address on envelopes so changed jobs and started sealing envelopes. We were thankful she took over that job as Shirley had to take over Vonnie's job. Vonnie wasn't able to come today. Our other Shirley had to leave a little earlier to take care of Ray so asked Sharon to help fold the advanced lessons as we had so many of those that needed to be mailed out.
Marvin and Gail picked up books for the jail and brought one for me about rescue horses. Leila, Bruce and Skip stayed late to help mom and I get more Bibles stuffed and wrapped. We didn't have enough to fill the order today unless we wrapped more so we did. We stopped at the Bartonville post office on the way home as the Hanna City post office closes for lunch. After dropping mom off I went straight to the stall barn to check on the filly and fill water buckets and give Madiera more hay. Anna was here cleaning the apartment. After making sure all was well I sat down to read the book from Marvin. It is a good book with lots of short stories so this one will be great for the barn. I enjoyed it. We had left overs for dinner. I'm heading up to the barn to do the final stall cleaning, hay and water refills but before I left checked the foaling monitor. The filly was sound asleep all stretched out.
She really does have long legs. I had just taken that picture when she jumped up to nurse but looked back at the cat who was running down the aisle.
She is doing well and So far so Good!
