More Meds

Mark was willing to get the fire pit and logs out this morning for the 5th wheel before breakfast. Once he ate, we both left for walks. He took off for the 50 foot strip while I left for the dumpster. Joan had set a live trap at the dumpster and had caught something like her 10th raccoon.

We stopped in at mom's to see if she wanted to go on the walk with us but she was watching David's talk in Gridley on Anger to Joy and wanted to finish it.  None of us were in a hurry today so we did 2 rounds and even went to check out the caution tape in the field.
We took the dogs with us for protection just in case.
I noticed that a few days ago, it looks like someone had buried a giant, got caught and the police had caution tape surrounding the crime scene.
What ever had been buried there gave Mortimer the dog the creeps, he couldn't get out of their fast enough.
Maybe there are 2 really thin Giants, no no it must be an alien with such a long skinny grave. Of course this may not even BE a grave, perhaps someone just planted sunflowers. When we got to the barn the mares were up at the bale and both foals were laying in the hay. Jewel's colt is the bay behind Jewel and Madiera's colt is almost buried in the hay. You can see him under Jewel.
After the walk I went back to the house a little discouraged. I'm still running a low grade fever and just can't seem to get better. A bit later I heard children and thought it might be my grandchildren and needed some help so got out to the golf cart and drove up to see. It was Rhonda and Kari with her boys.  They were having fun feeding the yearlings.
Left to right is Indy's 2022 colt Titus, Lily's 2022 filly Valerie and Rosaleigh's 2022 filly Tessa.
Rhonda was more than willing to help with turning the water on for the 5th wheel guests coming in today and also got the water heater turned on then checked to make sure there was water bottles in the fridge. When we got back, the boys had moved to petting Madiera's colt.

That colt loves people.  The yearlings came over to get a bit more attention and Titus was trying to stick his face through the gate for treats of grass.
They soon all loaded up and left to meet Tara. Check out their fancy ride.
Tara came to our house with bags of food, fresh fruit, asparagus, Chinese food and all kinds of goodies.
Our fridge is full to bursting with meals. Stephanie also sent an enchilada meal last night that will be served on Saturday for the work day. I asked Tara if any of her girls would want to help me with the graining and she sent Jane and Kate over to help.

Each time I get discouraged about not being able to get the work done someone shows up and not only does the work they act like they LOVE helping. I know, we are SO very blessed and I am thankful. I took the girls back to the playground on the golf cart and Kate found a phone on the road we determined must be one of the Reinhards. We drove over there and yes it was Faith's phone. I needed a couple hotdog forks for our guest coming in and Sean brought up 6 of them so back we went to the 5th wheel, dropped off 2 and took the other 4 into Mark's garage then back to the playground to drop off Jane and Kate. Rachel was with mom today and mom had some very exciting company today. Her 2 youngest great grandchildren arrived.
They are about the same size but 2 months different in age. Just the newest one is a whopping big boy.
When Mark got home we had a little more to do at the barn then he went  out to change a fuel filter on the small Kabuto and I went in to start supper. Tonight we had Kathy O's meal. By the way there were 4 muffins on that plate last night but Mark ate one with his breakfast.
This was delicious and was enough that I can bring it to mom's house for lunch tomorrow. Mark went back out to mow now that the fuel filter was replaced and hasn't come back in yet. Mike and Diane came over to get Blueberry covered by Valiant and this time didn't go so well. Blueberry pulled back broke the breeding stand and started pulling that backward toward the stock trailer. Mike let go of Valiant who ran right over to challenge Evan. Diane went running toward Valiant yelling and believe it or not he stopped and listened to her, she was able to grab his lead rope and take him back to his paddock. Mike was able to get Blueberry to stop backing before she damaged anything. She stood quietly while he untied her. She was put back. Then Mike came over with his tractor, dug two more deep holes and is currently installing a new breeding stand. Thankful no one got hurt. Rhoda had quite a night. Hazel, her miniature Poodle went into labor and was able to deliver a big fat female puppy but then nothing. Rhoda ended up calling Dr. Hoerr's emergency phone number and by this morning at 8:00 am Hazel went in for an emergency C section. There was one more puppy but this one didn't make it. Hazel was spayed and is now not feeling very well but is able to stand and is caring for her live  puppy.
Iris, Rhoda's daughter was telling me how cute this puppy is and she is RIGHT! This puppy is already spoken for.
Proctor ER just called to report the urine culture showed that what they gave me as an antibiotic was wrong and would not work and they have prescribed the correct pills that are now called in at Kroger. Somehow I'll have to get them picked up and start them as soon as possible.  That actually gives me a little hope about feeling better.
