Food & Fellowship

I felt well enough this morning to cook Mark breakfast of eggs, sausage and a piece of Steven's bread toasted. It still takes a long time to dress but that can be done now without any assistance. I went out to check horses early, stopped to take a picture of Indy's colt who is not dead in the picture just sound asleep. The yearlings really enjoy laying in the hay for their morning naps.

Ruth overslept this morning so was late for the walk and Joan and Heather decided to go to garage sales in Morton but had not left yet. Joan smashed her toe pretty badly and I just had to tell her, "if you just take your time and not hurry you won't hurt yourself."  Today was the day to get Blueberry covered by Valiant and today it happened.  She didn't stand well but she is a maiden mare. Tomorrow will go better.  Mark had emptied the tank of the 5th wheel and was taking it to the dump station when the tire on his Kubota went flat.
Mark had to go to the second floor of the new barn to get an air compressor to fill it up but was soon on his way to the dump station.
Phil sent a message that 100 boxes of flooring for the barn arrived for the work day on Saturday.
Before we finished the walk Diane opened the big barn door so I could drive the golf cart inside to see the couch Phil and Anna picked up. It is a massive sectional. Hoerr vet clinic was called to schedule Indy's colt to be gelded and Rosaleigh and Irish for ultrasounds. They now have an appointment with Dr. Hoerr here on Thursday June 22nd in the afternoon.
At 11:15 am Ruth arrived to stay with mom so Diane could take Molly to get groomed. I stuck Shirley's pot pie in the oven and it was done in plenty of time so that was taken to mom's and shared with mom, Ruth and Diane.
That is Diane in the back making the salad for this meal. That was so colorful we needed a picture of that too.
Lunch was fun and delicious. Food shared with good conversation always tastes great. I came back to the house to take a nap but didn't stay down long. When Mark arrived we both went to the Wildcat 5th wheel to learn how to empty those tanks. Mark's portable is really handy for that. It wasn't as gross as I thought it would be.
When we got back to the house there was a bag of trail mix loaded with really good candy and a loaf of banana bread on the table. I don't know if someone dropped it off while I was sleeping or while we were out working but as soon as we were cleaned up we each enjoyed a treat. Thanks to whoever dropped that off.
Today I watched Fred Witzig when he spoke in Princeville March 12th, 2023. To watch click HERE.
