South Go South

I really want to go somewhere warm, somewhere that when the sun shines it can be felt not just looked at. Some where that when it is time to go outside 5 different layers don't have to be piled on. Preferably somewhere with a nice warm sandy beach and the sound of waves.
There will be no trips for us this winter, I'm just going to have to tough these next few months out.
This morning while checking all the waterers and feeding I have to climb over the frozen piles of snow from the plowing Mark did. The snow was piled up against the fences to get it out of the drives but the feeders are ON the fence. Sometimes what looks frozen solid isn't and the snow is so deep it is way over the boots and of course finds a way into the boots. Winter sure makes everything hard.
I spent some time with Sissy and Star today, checking over udders and handling the mares. Neither mare is bagging up but the udder must be checked each day a foal born in this deep snow would not survive.
Next week we will start stalling them for a bit each day feeding them their grain there to get them use to coming inside and when they get closer to their due date they will need to stay inside at night.
Beth dropped off a box of dog supplies this afternoon. There were puppy pads along with puppy beds, squeaky toys and 4 retractable leashes. Emma's puppies are due Jan 20th, 2014. Gestation for a dog is 63 days and Emma looks huge already with 12 days to go.
