Another Busy Saturday

Our Saturday started early with a trip out to the barn to put Sissy back outside and clean the stalls then to Sam's for groceries before the snow started up.
When I got back Karin was already here working horses. She scheduled a trail ride for today from 11:00am to 1:00pm and needed to make sure all the horses would be fine as they have been at Middle Grove for months. Evan had broken a couple of boards in his paddock. Mike came over with his nail gun and in a few minutes had it repaired.  The riders arrived during the storm.  The snow was coming down fast but that didn't matter to the riders. Off they went into the storm.
Below is Melinda riding Jenis for the very first time.

Riders and horses above are from left to right Karin & Eliza, Rhoda & Evan, Anni & Anna and Melinda & Jenis. Below they are heading to the 'death trails' out into the storm. Thankfully they all survived.
We really need T-shirts printed up that say, "I survived the death trails at the Horsemeister Farm!"
Rhoda always makes Evan do more than the average horse. Below she made him climb the hill, pose then climb down.

Dan called about then to see if I would puppy sit Diesel while he went to Rachel's to work on her hot tub.
Diesel is a Great Dane puppy so full of energy the pitter patter of galloping feet was heard continuously the entire time he visited driving Emma and Darcy crazy. Both dogs soon asked for us to please open the door so they could go outside in the cold blowing snow to get some peace.
Once the trail riders were back and the horses put away Mark and I moved in a round bale for the middle paddock and checked the others. There are 2 that will need hay in a couple of days.
Today is Ruth's birthday so Diane invited us over for dinner. The real story was Ruth sent through a text saying she missed us all and would we come for dinner on Saturday. Diane realized it was Ruth's birthday and called her to tell her she shouldn't have to have the meal on her birthday. Ruth's reaction was, "oh, I forgot!" Ruth's daughter Rebekah brought over their 2 week old son Jordan for the grandma party.
Below is the very proud grandpa Fede

Above and below are a few of the guest all having a good time after the meal.

Above Logan is showing the guys and grandma a funny video clip while below the girls were admiring the way Jordan at only 2 weeks old can roll over.
After dinner Mark and I walked home in the freshly fallen fluffy snow. The wind is still and the night quiet. Mark brought in hay for the stall barn while I brought in Sissy. She will be in for the night until she delivers.
