Emily called while I was at work to report the bad news that Valiant broke through the back fence got into the cow pasture which adjoins Evan's field and picked a fight through the fence with Evan smashing down boards. Thankfully the electric fence was working and even though the boards were down Evan didn't try to get through. With the stalls holding mares and foals, there was no where to put Valiant until we could fix the fence. Emily had to put him in the stock trailer until later. Mom and Emily joined Diane, Eva Jean, Spark, Mark, Philip and I for lunch after the Berean work to discuss how to fix the problem. Diane, Mom and Eva Jean went garage saling while Emily and I went to TSC for electric fencing supplies and the rest of the afternoon was spent securing Valiant's paddock. He also got a new round bale. He was put back in after we knew the charge was on. Mark actually accidentally tested it for us with a big zap! After dinner Mark took Emily out in the canoe for some practice. Emily is going to go with Rachel and Karin to Current River next weekend and has never been canoeing.
I turned the mares out back to move in a round bale in the middle paddock and had to take a few pictures of Eliza's colt. He was showing off galloping around bucking and jumping.
His best friend is Ribbon's filly, they saw me taking pictures and both came over to check the camera out.
When Emily and Mark came up from the lake Hadassah's colt Solomon came running to them for attention.
Have I mentioned how friendly these Friesian foals are? They leave the herd for human attention.
Emily brought out Lola and her colt for a few pictures. He is one day old and just beautiful.
He is another friendly fellow. Lola is being a great mom.
Jenis was still showing so we covered her by Evan. Mark got out the skid steer to start filling the manure spreader while Emily climbed on the tractor to start spreading the manure.
They worked until dark then came in for ice cream.
