No calf yet, thankfully. It was so hot earlier today the air conditioner was turned on in the stall barn and Lola and her colt were brought inside. Mark finished cleaning out the left side of the big barn in preparation for the 25 round bales that are to be delivered on Monday. We still have room for 40 more bales on the right side. Karin brought Ribbon out for AmyBeth's girls, Anni Davidovics must have been watching Amy's children and brought them over to ride. Jessica Sauder hosted the AC girls retreat at the playground today. They had lots of activities but one of the favorite is horse back riding on the death trails with a race to the finish line on the way home. These girls had good balance and were told "don't worry about the reins, just hold on, the mares know their way home." This is obvious in some of the pictures.
It was a successful ride! A front came through bringing cooler weather and wind. Lola and her colt were taken out for a few pictures of this gorgeous 5 day old colt.
He just keeps getting better and better.
Mike and Diane came home from Middle Grove and worked on installing a temporary automatic waterer for the middle paddock. Their tank will be moved over for the cows tomorrow. The evening was pleasant with a huge full moon looking down lighting the night sky enough to drive the golf cart over to the barn without a flashlight.
That colt is so gorgeous! Will you keep him?

No, we only keep fillies. Just can't get attached to the inventory!
