Music To the Ears
There was a lot of driving to do today, I wanted to put yesterday's cd of the morning sermon by Tim Funk in the car but the cd was no where to be found. Instead 2011 Benefit dinner cd titled Rise! Shine! was placed in the cd player and sweet music flowed into my soul during the drive to the shop, the bank, Skyline home, back to the shop and finally back to the farm.
Hay needed to be moved in to 4 paddocks today and horses moved. When the cabin field was reached, there were 3 horses out. Anni Davidovics first helped direct the skid steer with a good round bale into the Raven's paddock shelter then she helped bring the 4 mares and 4 foals over and placed them in that paddock. Indy and Killian were moved into the breeding shed after a new round bale was supplied there. Zalena and Ylse's paddock needed a new bale as did Ciera and Holly's paddock. Next to do was the teasing of the mares. The good news is Jewel at 19 days is not showing any sign of coming in, the bad news is Jenis at 16 days is. Bunni, Sally and Holly were also teased but none of them are showing yet. Hope we didn't miss them for the year. Some mares will quit cycling in the fall.
Mark came home from work early to help with the painting in the farm house. When Karin came to work horses it was the perfect excuse to quit painting and pull out Rachel's camera. Pictures below are Jewel's filly by Evan. She is one month old.
She is exquisite! Mike has promised to name her which will need to be done before we send in her registration papers.
