Day 2 Spoon River Drive 2012
Made it to church in time for early morning Bible study. Bill Chaffer is the leader of that class and we learn so much each Sunday. Morning service was Tim Roecker and he was on fire! I had to leave after lunch to make it in time for the afternoon pony rides. Hopefully someone will bring me a cd of the afternoon service.
Karin and I arrived at the Old School Center just a few minutes after 1:00pm and immediately got the ponies out as a line was building. Today we had many adult riders, way more than usual.
Ella was asked to do her tricks for one of the mom's. Her young rider was thrilled with every step.
We earned $119.00 plus change for the 4 hours we worked. Once back Mark and Mike both worked on the downed boards so I had a place to put Ella and Paris. Jenis is still in and covered by Evan. Mike handled Valiant for Bunni's cover. Valiant is still a handfull. Sally is still in and will be done tomorrow morning. Holly was tried today but would have nothing to do with the boys. She must not be in yet. Rachel had a cookout planned at the lake and Karin was needed as the headless horseman riding Ylse.
The first hayrack ride came over the fields and Karin came galloping out of the woods to give them all a good scare.
The second hay rack ride was the real scary one. The night had fallen to a pitch black, just a few twinkling stars, no moon to light up the fields. Karin and Ylse came out of the inky blackness and galloped in front of the tractor lights, then came around the back to scare even the bravest of souls. She actually lost her 'head' out in the field and will have to search for it tomorrow during daylight hours.
