Lazy Monday
Mom called around 7:00am to find out if we were walking, as it is a holiday I wasn't sure but told her I would meet her at the dumpster at the regular time and at least get one round in. To our surprise everyone was there, even Karin and Ruth. After the walk, Sally was brought out and covered by Evan. He was so well behaved today. It really helps that he is being used 2 times a day, he is learning manners! It was cold in the apartment this morning and our first fire of the season needed to be made in the wood burner. Unfortunately we have no wood up at the apartment it is all now down at the house where we plan to move before the real cold hits. The wheelbarrow was left in Farmington at the Old School Center but Mark has a real handy wood carrier. Two trips was all it took to bring up enough wood for the entire day. Once the fire was going strong and the heat rising from the inside temperature of 62 degrees to 70 the kindle was taken out and a book titled Blood of Adam (Generations of Noah) by Rachel S. Neal started. Karin came over to work horses and brought Zalena out first.
When she brought Eliza out, the 2 fillies were let out with her for a few pictures.
These 2 girls do everything together.
Studly, Karin's dog came over to see what they were doing, they were very curious about him.
Around 1:00pm she took a break, we picked up Diane and went to the WareHouse for lunch. It was hard to get back to work after that, in fact too hard for me when a good book waited. The rest of the afternoon was spent sitting in a very comfortable rocker recliner in front of a roaring fire until the book was finished. Mark came home around 4:30pm, we had a quick dinner of New England clam chowder, shared a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and an apple. Mark went to the house to start stacking wood while I got Bunni covered by Valiant and Jenis covered by Evan then down to the house to work with Mark. Rhoda arrived with a family for trail riding. Paris, Ella, Bonnie and Bunni were the horses chosen. Below they are riding off into the sunset.
When they arrived back from the death trails all in one piece and all still on their horses we consider it a good ride!
