ANOTHER RAVEN filly born last night. Sophie's owner emailed this:
She's beautiful and strong and big. We'll send pictures soon. The vet just left because Sophie doesn't have much, if any, milk He gave her some shots andsuggested some minimal supplement for the foal and hopes her milk will kick in. She seems to have some colostrum but there is so little that he gave the filly a bottle of prepared colostrum just in case. She's nursing but we can't tell how much she's getting because her bag is as shrunken and flat as an unpregnant mare. We'll keep you posted. I'm just glad she's here and both are healthy. All the best, Berta
Anyone out there have this happen? The only mare we were ever concerned about was Sangria as she doesn't start to bag up until just before the foal is born but once the foal is on the ground there is plenty.
Hopefully Berta will send updates with pictures.
