Wishes

Mike sent 2 pictures back from Middle Grove yesterday but they didn't arrive until after I was in bed. I saw them this morning at 5:00 am when I checked the phone.

When I walked out the door this morning Sally, Jewel and Madiera were up at the fenceline.
Above is Jewel in front of Madiera and below Sally is to the left of the picture.
Cookie was still breathing hard this morning. She has heaves, like asthma in people and really needed to be out on pasture and off of any hay. I made arrangements to take her out right after mom and I got home from the Berean office. I quit the walk a little early as I needed to change my shoes from my barn shoes into my going into public shoes (the ones with no manure on them). Mom and I made it to the Berean office before 9:00 am. There wasn't a lot of mail but we still kept busy, so busy I completely forgot to take any pictures. That was because Skip was gone and I was needed on the computer. Leila brought the treats today, they were delicious. She brought an assortment of bars, cookies and donuts. Of course we wanted to try them all. We stopped at the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and studies going out today then home to find 4 of my 5 daughters on the beach with my grandchildren.
Mom and I enjoyed the sunshine and view while waiting for Joan to come home from garage sales. As soon as Joan arrived I left for Middle Grove with Cookie in the trailer. I drove up to the round pen at Middle Grove and there was no horses in sight so kept driving to the top of the hill and over to the campsite overlooking the lake. Still no horses. I didn't want to leave Cookie without knowing where the herd was so drove back to the round pen and started calling for Lily. The horses started neighing, Cookie heard them and took off at a canter to find them. They never showed up so she must have found them and they all settled down to graze. I couldn't stay and look for them as I was suppose to be home to watch Sarah's girls while she and Nolan go to the closing on their new home. When I got back to the barn Rhoda and Stephanie all the kids off the beach and into the gym for some indoor play. Rhoda offered to give the kids riding lessons on Missy so we all headed over to the horses. Each one that wanted got a short riding lesson. First was Zion.

Next on Missy was Zeke.

River was the 3rd rider.

Iris was next.

Last was Eden.

They all wanted to ride more but by this time the closing was over and we all wanted to go see Sarah and Nolan's new house. Missy was taken out of the round pen and took 3 of the girls into the barn.
After Missy was put away I went to mom's house and got a ride with Rachel and Diane to the new house. This is an older home and needs a lot of updating such as load bearing walls removed to open it up but oh the possibilities.
The yards are beautiful, large mature shade trees, abundant grass, large flat areas and a shared pond.
There is a large cement parking area at the front of the house
Beautiful park like 6 acres.
A HUGE 3 stall garage with an extra work area and work benches.
There is a full unfinished basement. The house was much bigger than we thought and the land is gorgeous! Best of all it is just 4 miles from our house. They were tearing out carpeting tonight. Mark and I didn't stay for that. I made a stir fry for supper as soon as we got home.
I added an egg roll to each plate.
Right after supper Titus was taken out to the round pen. Today he was excellent for fly spray and saddling. I got all the burrs out of his tail and mane but didn't get his forelock finished. It was getting late and I was getting tired.
When I got back to the garage to put the golf cart away Mark was still working on it.
He jacked up the door so the blocks on the sides could be moved back into the correct position. He wants to make the garage doors bigger so he has room to put in a big electrical box because someday he wants a Tesla! I think he is dreaming and has about as much chance of that as the proverb dad used to repeat, "If wishes were horses beggars would ride". Mark said he wants a car that is self driving so the kids won't take his keys away. I don't think that is the correct reason for buying one of those expensive cars.
