Packing

On our walk this morning we stopped to check out the construction site when Mike asked for help. That big truck was stuck and he needed Joan to drive that while he used the yanmar to pull.

Later Diane had to help drive it as it was stuck in the field. Mike told Diane she drove as good as Joan, that is quite a compliment.
I drove to Aldi to pick up snacks for the Africa trip then once home started packing. I am trying to go for 10 days with just a back pack and a carry on. Diane has the scale and that was used to stay under 11 pounds for the back pack and under 16 pounds for the carry on. On my way over to Diane's I saw Sarah, Rhoda and Stephanie's car so once the bags were weighed I stopped at mom's to walk down to the beach and visit with them. Berlica and Israel brought the horses down to ask me to check girths before they did the trails.
The kids were having a great time playing in the lake and up at the playground.
Zeke and River were playing on the lily pad.
When Berlica and Israel finished the trails they swam across the lake.

After the horses were put away Israel started fishing and caught a bass right off the beach.
He put it in a bucket for Zeke and River to see it then River let it go back into the lake.

Mark's been working on the garage. He wants to make one stall wide enough for a Tesla. The other side will still be used for a couple golf cart. He has someone coming to give us an estimate on electric garage doors and is hoping to get Brian to give him some ideas on the electrical service he would need for an electric car. I spent the evening reading one of the books Gail brought. I read one last night and another today. Hopefully I can save at least one for the trip. She gave me 8 books for the barn but of course I NEED to read them first. I've finished the 2 Terri Blackstock books, can't wait to check out the Colleen Cobble books and the  Dee Henderson 3 books in 1 hardback as I know all of those authors and really enjoy them. There are 2 from authors I've not heard of, Sharlene MacLaren and Davis Bunn but David Bunn co authored with Janette Oke and I love her books so will read that one tomorrow. I didn't have the heart to work with Izzy today. I'll need to work with her tomorrow morning early.
