Wow I slept for almost 8 hours last night. Crazy how exhausting it is to haul horses. They were good too, not moving around too much in the trailer. They were fine this morning, happy to be munching on the hay when ever they wanted all night long. Mark went out to work on applying mortar to the garage cement blocks. He is getting those straight and strong.
I went over at 7:30 am to say good-by to Uncle Johnny and Aunt MaryLou. They left right after breakfast for their trip home to Michigan. Mark and I left for Menards with the truck to pick up the 3 vanities for the 3 new bathrooms. That took a while. They had been ordered and paid for but we had to scan our phone then wait in line then each one was brought out one at a time. The boxes were larger than Mark thought but we were still able to get them all in the back of the truck. We stopped at Sam's club on the way home to pick up 10 pounds of hamburgers, buns, avocados, chips, watermelon and ice cream for our supper tomorrow. I was going to buy bacon but it was over $1.00 a pound more than Aldi charges so didn't buy that at Sams. We needed to stop for gas on the way home to fill the truck. That took almost $90.00 but I'm glad the truck has a full tank now. We pulled the truck into the barn as the vanities are too heavy for us to unload.
We decided to have an early supper at Gils tonight and made it there a few minutes before they opened at 4:00 pm. There was already a line going out to the road of people waiting for them to open.
They were quick about seating everyone. Mark and I split a cobb salad and also ordered French fried onion rings.
We just ate of few of those onion rings, the rest will be heated up in the air fryer for a topping for the hamburgers if wanted. When we left there about 50 minutes later the entire restaurant was full. That place is very popular on a Saturday night in Hanna City. We got home before 5:00 pm so I dropped Mark off and went to Aldi in Bartonville and bought 6 pounds of bacon for $4.19 a pound, also some pepper jack cheese along with cheddar cheese and 2 boxes of brownie mix. We will have plenty of toppings for the hamburgers and will have brownies and ice cream for dessert. Mike and Diane sent back video of both of their solar coaster boats out on Mark Twain Lake today. I'm pretty sure these are the only two solar coaster boats in the world! Dan and Mike designed and built them. They run on solar battery and actually make more power than they use even on full speed ahead.
It was very hot today, too hot to work the new mares so they were given a day off. This evening I drove the golf cart up to check on them. They are enjoying their well shaded paddock.
