Tuesday

Yesterday when Sarah had Israel and Elisabet the kids were catching and throwing grasshoppers in their pond. Something was eating them as soon as they would throw one in so Israel got a fishing pole out, caught a grasshopper, put it on his hook and within seconds caught the biggest bass they have ever seen in that pond.

They haven't owned the place very long so who knows there may be more monsters in that pond. The fish was put back in the water to live for another day.
Mark was walking across the driveway this morning when the snapper came walking across the drive.

It is actually bigger than the picture shows. He took the picture and didn't get too close but he told me it was over a foot and a half long.  We didn't see it on our walk. Mom and I went to Berean right after the walk. We had a lot of mail and had 43 Bible requests today. We were a little short handed as we were missing Vonnie (our boss) and Kathy (a reader). Below we were getting ready for our prayer. Skip was telling us about the 10 cases of Bibles he got entered.
Marvin was telling us about the revival in Oregon.
While we were there working Sharon got a message that Irv needed to go back to the hospital.

Sharon and Irv are not going to be able to go to Branson on Thursday so we spent some time calling around to see if we could get someone to take their hotel room and tickets to the David play at Sight and Sound theater. By this evening we found a couple that could take their place so nothing will go to waste.
We finished just before noon and drove straight to the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and Studies.  After Joan came back to mom's I left to start working Izzy. Berlica came to help.
I should have taken a video of her, she started bucking again once the saddle was on but quit a little earlier this time. The saddle was removed and after round penning her again the saddle was put back on. This time no bucking. She even did well enough that Berlica was able to sit in the saddle and I had Izzy take a couple steps. We quit on that good note. I wish I had taken some pictures of that.  She was given a treat and taken back and Harli brought out. She was round penned then the saddle put on. She was tense and acted afraid of the pad and saddle but we just took her time. Below Berlica is round penning her for the first time with the saddle and she never once tried to buck.

Berlica removed the saddle then went to get a different girth so I just put the pad on her and let her walk around with it.

It fell off when she started trotting away from me so I put it back on and then started putting it on all over her until she decided it was ok.

Berlica needed to leave for her Spanish lesson so I put Harli away then the tack and went in the house to cool down. I've had Valiant on pasture as he was losing too much weight but Mark wanted to mow the pastures today. He opened both up and somehow Valiant ended up in Raven's old paddock and got locked in with no hay for a couple hours. Mark was sure he got into the paddock on his own as he was sure the gate was shut. We really need to get Valiant on alfalfa hay, which has a lot more calories than our grass hay. Mike was able to order 11 of them and will get them soon. I was getting ready to go over to mom's house this evening just as the sun was starting to set.
The sky was gold. When I left mom's the sky had turned from gold to red.
I had just come in when our apartment guest sent a text that the air conditioner wasn't working. Mark and I went up, it was just a breaker, Mark found it and got the air going again. It had been out all day and the thermostat was reading 89 degrees. I offered to let her move over to the bedroom in the other barn but she thought she would be fine. On the way back to the house I had to stop to take a picture of the spider and web just built today right in the doorway of the sliding glass door of the rec room.
We were thrilled when Chris and Steve could go to Branson with us. Chris told me she has been wanting to go and only had to change a few appointments to make it happen.
