Busy Wednesday

On our walk this morning we started down the cabin lane only to see Mike light a big fire.

There was just so much timber to clear and so much of it needed to be burned. Right after the walk Mark helped me put in 3 bales of hay. The middle paddock got two bales and the Gypsies in the far paddock got a bale.
Only after the horses were fed did I go in to make breakfast. After breakfast I only had about 15 minutes to shower and leave for my dreaded cardiologist appointment. That turned out to be a breeze. I didn't see the doctor but the nurse physicians assistant and was out by 11:00 am. As soon as I got home I moved Evan to the outdoor arena, moved a new bale in for Valiant's paddock then moved Valiant into his paddock and Evan back in his paddock. Both stallions were glad to be back in their own paddocks. Then it was time to work with Izzy.  I was pleased today there was no bucking at all. Berlica arrived so she worked a little with Izzy then climbed on.
We only had a couple incidents where Izzy spooked with Berlica on her but both times I was able to stop the spook and calm her down. It is going to take a while of just hand leading this mare with Berlica on her before she realized this is hew new job. Next Harli was worked. Today before any round penning Harli was saddled and bridled.
She stood well then moved out when I asked her to. I was pleased as she was much more relaxed and is learning to stop when I ask her to stop.

Stephanie arrived with Israel, Elisabet, Zion, Eden and River. Elisabet, Eden and River wanted to go swimming but Israel and Zion wanted to go horse back riding. Today we started Berlica riding Jewel and Israel riding Missy in the round pen then out to the trails. Once we were on the trails the phone was given to Zion and she took most of the video of them on riding on the trails. Not bad for a 7 year old.

Of course I took a few pictures.
Below they stopped in the creek.
After they reached the top of the hill Israel let Zion ride Missy and he rode on the golf cart.

After both trail rides Zion climbed on double with Berlica on Jewel and Israel rode Missy back to the barn.

Sarah arrived about then and River wanted to ride so Missy was taken into the round pen.
I needed to leave then to go pick up Brian and Rebekah's 13 passenger van if I wanted to make it home in time to go to church. It takes 54 minutes to drive to their farm in Eureka and another 54 minutes home. All went well until I was trying to fill up the gas tank on the van. I couldn't find where to fill it. I finally called Rebekah and she was trying to explain it to me when a man came up behind me to show me where to find the hidden gas tank. It really WAS hidden perfectly. When I got home I opened the side door to see if there were any places to plug in phone chargers when I found the other problem. The step to get into the van is much to high for us old folks. I sent out a text to the family and Ruth brought a step stool right over. That gave me 15 minutes to get ready for church. David had the message tonight on the sower and seed parable. Click HERE to watch that. After church we went to Culvers for a late dinner. It was a good group and we enjoyed going. Now I'm going to bed.
