It was easy to wake up this morning after a good night's uninterrupted sleep. I had plenty of time to read before heading out for the walk. Faith joined us on the walk today. She has not yet started her new classes. When we stopped at Joan's we had to admire her hibiscus bush which is blooming beautifully.
After the walk and after breakfast Titus was pulled out and taken to the round pen so the burrs from his forelock could be removed. He stood very well for that.
He has a thick mane and tail and those burrs really get caught and tangled. He was fly sprayed and saddled again without tying him. He moved away once from the fly spray then had to work. If he wants to move he is made to move. After just one round he remembered then stood quietly to be sprayed. I gave him a treat, walked away then back 3 more times with the fly spray and each time he stood still while getting sprayed then looked forward to his treat. He is a smart boy. He didn't move for the pad and saddle but kind of flinches like he is sure it is going to be thrown at him. I let him smell it, then gently lift it on. He didn't flinch or move when the girth was tightened. I asked him to move out with it on.
He really is an impressive 3 year old. He should end up with the mega mane.
I needed to pick up Taegan at 11:00 am so was heading to the barn to put Titus away when Mark walked by. I asked him to hold him for a minute for a picture.
He turned his head but check out that length of neck. He was put back and I left for Farmington. After dropping Taegan off I took some supplies over to the barn. Tomorrow then drove to Bartonville to pick up some peppers for our meal tomorrow. Stephanie sent a message that she had to take David to the ER as he was very sick. Rhoda picked up Israel and Elisabet and will keep them overnight. Rhoda sent back the pictures below:
The girls did crafts.
The boys played games.
Then Rhoda took them on a hike.
They saw a big buck.

They took Rizzy and Ruby and had a fun afternoon.
Tonight was family night at the fellowship hall and mom decided she would like to go. We left from mom's at 5:35 pm and easily made it by the 6:00 pm start time. Joanna and Jesse Hoerr along with Molly and Gabe and a few others provided the dinner which was a Italian pasta with meat sauce and meat balls and bread from Avanti's salad, vegetables, and lots of home baked desserts. Jonathan Aupperle was the speaker tonight. He spoke on how important going to church IS for a Christian. When it was over I checked my phone and there was a message from Stephanie that David was diagnosed with a bad case of pneumonia but the good news was she was going to be able to take him home. She sent the picture below and the comment The guy who never takes medicine!
Of course we had to laugh at the reduced for quick sale yogurt.
Mike was out at Middle Grove today and didn't see the herd but later checked the trail cam and sent over the picture. I was glad to see Cookie with them, although I can only see her rear end in this shot.
