Easter Bonnet SOLD

We had a good walk this morning, not too cold, not raining and good fellowship. At one point mom asked if we could maybe walk a little faster. Pretty bad when we are out here for exercise but talking so much that we forget to do more than amble along and really bad that our 86 year old mother has to ask us to move it! I didn't get the stalls cleaned before the walk and didn't want to take the time to do them after as I needed to run to Dr. Hoerr's office in Morton, IL to pick up a shot for Brandee's mare Lilly. I HAD one for her last week but wasted it by accident. When I went to give the shot the mare moved and it ended up squirting out on the ground.  She stood perfect today, hopefully this will bring her into season soon.
On the way back I stopped at TEMCO to pick up the Berean mail and was surprised at how little mail there was. Tomorrow we will be done quickly and probably even get Wednesday's work done.
As soon as I got home Star and her day old colt by Valiant were taken outside for the first time since he was born and a few pictures taken for the website. Star was so worried about Foxy (who was in the round pen) stealing him she was trying to wrap herself around him.  He is a cutie:
If you would like to see the rest of his pictures from today click HERE. They were left out in the field for a few hours. This colt is for sale for $3500.00.  He will be registered with FHH as 50% Friesian but we do not have papers on Star even though we know she is a Tennessee Walker. This means the registration papers will have Valiant's pedigree on the sire side but the dam side will say grade Tennessee Walker. He WILL have the mega hair, be big and black so someone is going to get a bargain. Just maybe he will be gaited. Wouldn't that be something, riding down the trail on a gaited Friesian! It is just too soon to tell but he sure seemed to be gaiting today.  The stalls were cleaned then Easter Bonnet brought over from the cabin field. She had a few burrs in her forelock and a few on her tail.  She is mostly clean but still some dried mud on her belly which will need to wait for warmer weather to remove.  She was taken to the outdoor arena and left there while I teased and covered mares.  Anna is still in and covered by Valiant and Hadassah is still in and covered by Evan. Galena is still too worried about her foal to think of letting a stallion near her. Ayanna, Lily and Lola all looked interested when Valiant was brought out but I did not bring them out to tease as Valiant is already busy with Anna and Jury.
Kelsey arrived right after Hadassah was put away. Easter Bonnet was thrilled with her attention. She is such a funny yearling, as I was trying to get her to move she would run to Kelsey sure she would save her from me.  Kelsey bought her!  She will be picking her up either Friday or Saturday.  EllaSky, EasterBonnet's companion is going to miss her. These two girls have been companions since birth.
This afternoon I worked on preparing Parmesan chicken and veggies for grilling while listening to AC Central. When Mark got home from work he did all the grilling for tonight's supper and tomorrow's Berean meal. After supper we went up to the barn to adjust the camera. It needed to be hung much higher so I can see the entire stall. Foxy and Missy were brought in for the night and are both under the foaling monitor camera. We are having a gentle rain falling which will help the fields but not the paddocks. I went over to mom's for a visit and a cup of tea but will be hitting the sack soon. Thankful for another good day.
