Benefit Dinner Day

We needed to get up early today to get everything done before our big evening. Karin had a trail ride scheduled here to work Oksana and Lola, then Emily, Rhoda and Karin were meeting the Cooksey's at Farmdale Park with a full trailer load. Karin arrived to work a few horses before the first ride. Below she is giving Piper her second day instruction. We were very pleased with this mare, she remembered from yesterday and built on it. Karin kept her work short and sweet.
Next out was Lola. Karin would really like us to not breed this mare until fall so we can use her as trail horse, she is doing so well. Not sure that will go over very well with my partners.
She is a lovely mare and produces gorgeous foals.
Oksana was brought out next, Karin had Hannah pop on her first in the indoor before the trail ride.
They started down the drive to get to the trails and Oksana's paddock pals were all staring at them as they left.
Valiant came running from the far end of his pasture to check out the pretty girls walking down the drive.
When Karin and Hannah got back from the ride, Karin was pretty thrilled. Oksana did very well keeping up fine with Jenis and handling the hills and creeks, even a gallop in the field on the way back. Oksana was put away and Killian pulled out. Below Karin is leading him to the trailer and he is being very careful not to get to close to her.
Emily showed up just as we were loading and took over loading Killian and Ayanna while Karin loaded Jenis and Lola.

They reported this trail ride went great. Lola is easily going to be a beginner horse and Killian was well behaved. Jill arrived with her Raven x Lily daughter Kensie. She came straight from the vet. The ultrasound showed Kensie is in and ready to be covered. Since Kensie is a maiden mare she would not show to Evan so we were very glad Jill had taken her in for an ultrasound. She was successfully covered by Evan this afternoon. We will try her again tomorrow night but according to the vet she had a very large follicle ready to go and should ovulate soon.
I asked Jill to pose for a picture then took a few more later as this is such a gorgeous mare.

We will stick her on Monday. Emily has been hired to put some riding time on her. Mark and I left for the benefit dinner before 4:00 pm. Everyone was hard at work there, the smells coming from the fellowship hall had one's mouth watering. Below are a few pictures of the evening.

The dinner was wonderful the singing was fun and inspiring. Ken Hoerr gave a short talk then everyone pitched in and cleaned up the fellowship hall. Mark and I left a little early I had stalled horses to feed for the evening. It is well after 10:00 pm and has been a long blessed day.
