I awoke at midnight and saw car lights at the barn and only then remembered the outdoor parking lights should have been turned on at dusk yesterday. This morning I left to go check out the barn but stopped to take a couple pictures of the mushrooms coming up at the big stump.
I had to get closer as it looks like fairies could live under those toadstools.
The horses were grained and Rosaleigh's eye salve applied then
I took the golf cart over and found that no one had spent the night. They all left last night shortly after midnight. I went in the barn, grabbed the laundry and looked around. All was well, the barn was reasonably clean, the garbage cans were all emptied but I could hear a noise in the gym. That turned out to be the batting machine. I had to run upstairs to turn that off. I thought this would be a hard morning as we had Abram and Addy's baby shower after church today but the guests had left it nice. We picked up Rhonda and then followed Joan all the way to church. We had a visitor for the morning message. Klint Beyer from Sabetha, Kansas. To watch that message click HERE. After lunch Tim Roecker had the afternoon message. Click HERE to listen to that. We left pretty quickly after church was over. I needed to pick up a few items for the Sunday dinner so stopped at the Aldi on University. That one takes a little longer to check out as they don't have the self checkouts but have more selection than the one in Bartonville. I wanted hoagie rolls to go with the Italian beef I was serving and they had them. As soon as we got home and changed, the Italian beef was put in the crockpots with 3 kinds of peppers then went out to move a bale in for the 3 Friesian mares. They were happy with the new bale. Rosaleigh used it for a scratching tool. I took the video below and had to laugh at how she chased her daughter Tessa away from the bale to use it.
Myrna, Susan, Mandy and Rachel were all at the barn decorating for the baby shower for Abram and Addy this afternoon.
That started at 3:00 pm. They had a great turnout. Of course there was delicious food which may have been one of the reasons.
Below are a few pictures.
Zeke got to help hold the garbage bag.
After the shower more of my family (those that didn't make the shower) arrived for the dinner. Those kids had fun with the leftover balloons.
After dinner came the volley ball. They played inside today.
We really need to work on the sand court. The lake was well used today. A big group was cooling off swimming while another group was up on mom's deck watching.
The girls were trying to teach the boys how to do water-ballet
It was pretty funny to watch. After the volley ball games a lot of the players came down to the beach to cool off. Rhoda spent some time cleaning up the barn then she and Lee took Nancy home. David and Stephanie's family made it home from their long 4200 mile vacation trip. They asked Sarah and Nolan if they would bring Rizzy home and they said yes. We are dog-less for the first time in 3 weeks. Rizzy was happy to go with them and I bet she was ecstatic to see Israel and Elisabet. I needed to go back to the barn one more time this evening to start the dishwasher and turn off lights and on the way stopped to get Rosaleigh's eye done. I'm going to sleep good tonight!
