Today was a busy work day. I didn't stay and visit long at mom's after the walk so breakfast could be made early. We teased Aiken and she would not show. Yesterday I thought she might be coming in and she winked twice. Today nothing. Evan was turned out in the pasture then Aiken turned out with him to see if she would show. She didn't instead they just grazed together.
Today I started at the barn getting the paint off the stair railings, cleaning the 3 bathrooms and the hallway floor. I worked a little upstairs but gave up. That drywall and paint is just too hard to get off of the rubber tiles. Mark was mowing the mare pasture and all went well until he tried to turn the mower off. It would not turn off. He tried calling the service department, then tried looking up the problem on youtube but when Joan came out she figured out how to get it off. It is still broken but at least it can be used. Mike and Berlica took the horses on the trails and ended up in the outdoor arena.
I really needed to work on our house today and was able to get a lot done. Before the barn was built I cleaned it at least once a week as the kids would be here on Sunday but since the barn so much has been just skimmed through. When we sold the living quarter horse trailer most of the stuff stored in there was here in the house and that needed to change. We are not using most of it any more. Some was taken to the cabin (the horse camping stuff) The other camping stuff was taken to the stall barn. I was able to get rid of a lot of clutter.
Mackenson was hard at work still on the fire, logs and limbs.
This evening we had a wonderful dinner with friends.
Mom, Diane and Joan joined us for dessert. The food was amazing but the fellowship was even better!
