Enjoying the Lake

On our walk today we stopped at the cabin to see the hole where Mike took down the big tree. This was the tree we had leadropes hanging from and would tie the horses as we tacked up. It is now gone.

We stopped at mom's after the walk. Ruth was telling Diane how Fedi wants Ruth to go to the doctor and have the lump removed on her forehead. She doesn't want to as it is not covered by insurance. Diane had the idea of giving Ruth bangs to cover up the lump and it worked.
That was much cheaper than a medical procedure. Her only problem was her phone did not recognize her and wouldn't open. Jacob dropped off Chelise just as mom and I were leaving for the Berean office.
When I opened the Berean door was shocked to find the ladies all on the floor. It turned out Vonnie had tripped going into the building and fell to her knees, the other ladies were showing her the best way to get up after a fall and were demonstrating the technique. I thought they all might be looking for a contact. Do people even wear those these days? We had a busy morning. It started by applying a 10 cent stamp to each of the studies that had already been processed as postage has now gone up.
While they were working on that Kathy was opening mail and in one envelop a man named Charlie from North Carolina, who is no longer an inmate but has been released sent 2 crisp 100 dollar bills. No letter but just those 2 bills. I looked him up on our computer and found he received a Bible in 2019. He truly has a changed heart.
We almost had more request letters than Bible studies. Marvin and Skip were both missing as were Bruce and Leila. Leila is back in the hospital and will have a complete hip replacement on Wednesday so please pray that this one would be the right size and would not come out of joint like the last 2 replacements. Marvin sent a text at 9:30 am that it was time to pray. I had been having trouble with the envelope printer so called him about that then we just asked if he would pray for us here at Berean, for the program and for Bruce and Leila.
After the prayer everything worked, the computers, the printers and the postage machine. We were thankful.
Kathy ended up staying later to finish some of the letters she was sending.
Mom and I drove to the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and studies going out today then back to mom's house. Today she wanted to go swimming. Ruth sent out a text that we would take her out at 1:30 pm. Rachel swam over, Diane came from work, Ruth came from her house, I came from the barn and Joan brought mom down to the lake.
We started mom in a big oversized chair raft.
That kept her too far out of the water. We decided to transfer her into a simple raft which worked much better. Chelise woke up from her nap so she got to go swimming too.
We stayed out in that lake for OVER 2 hours. Mom was very relaxed and comfortable and wasn't really ready to come out but by this time my family was arriving to start work on the barn ceiling. We promised to do it again soon. The water is just perfect right now, warm up on top but a nice cool layer not too far down.
Sarah, Nolan, Rhoda and Lee came with their families to help put up the ceiling tiles. I took the kids shopping at Dollar General and let the each pick out 3 things as long as they were marked at a dollar while the adults worked.
It wasn't just the adults that worked. The kids were great bringing in the tiles as needed and unwrapping them.

When I walked in Rhoda and Lee were up on the scaffold, Sarah was handing up the tiles. Nolan was cutting the tiles that needed to be cut.
We ordered food from the Warehouse and picked that up at 6:45 pm. That was a good stopping point as they had just finished the last box we had in the hallway. Dinner was pizza and salad. The kids had played upstairs so we went up to see how Zion had cleaned it all up.
It was a busy day. I didn't get any mares teased so tomorrow morning before the walk I will need to get Tessa covered. Now I'm ready to relax.
