Before our walk this morning Rosaleigh's eye was looked at and treated. It is greatly improved. Maybe it was just scratched. I'll still watch it, treat it and call the vet clinic if it is not healed by tomorrow. Mom and I went to Berean this morning. We were a little short handed today as Bruce and Leila couldn't come and neither could Skip. The rest of us were able to get everything done.
Kathy was the only reader this morning. Marvin and I worked on the computers but Marvin needed to make a lot of copies for the jail today. Sharon worked on stuffing envelopes, Vonnie got the Bibles stuffed and wrapped. Mom sealed envelopes.
Lois stopped in and gave us some time applying labels to the envelopes and putting the envelopes on the studies. Shirley ran the postage machine today as Bruce was gone.
We found out postage is going up again on the 13th of this month so will need to buy some 10 cent stamps but even worse, all of the studies at church waiting to be graded will need to be brought home, graded and sent out before that date OR I'll be buying a lot more 10 cent stamps. We enjoyed pecan sticky buns AND some home baked chex mix Sharon provided when we were done with our work.
We stopped at the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and studies going out today and I asked Kathy the post mistress about buying extra postage stamps but will need to go down to the Peoria post office to get a lot of them as the Hanna City post office didn't have very many. She was also not sure exactly how much more I would be needing. As the first class stamps are going up to 78 cents each and our metered mail we pay $69 cents a 10 cent stamp should be sufficient but she wants me to check with Peoria before purchasing.
We passed Joan on our way back to mom's. She was driving to Walmart to get the oil changed in her van. Gertie stopped in for a short visit as she had Kensley with her along with the 3 year old she watches during the day. She also enjoyed one of the sticky buns. Who doesn't like pecans covered in caramel? After I left from mom's the mares were teased. Curlin is still in and covered by Valiant. He was then taken to the outdoor arena so he could have some grazing time. I had left the phone in the house but he was having a ball enjoying the freedom to run, buck, graze then buck some more. Mark got Evan's pasture mowed today. Later he and I went to the Bartonville Diner for an early dinner and when we stepped out it was pouring down rain. It was hard to see out of the window, the wipers couldn't keep up. The farther we drove West to get home the less rain so we were a little disappointed but still had a half of an inch in the rain gauge.
