We got an inch of very needed rain during the night. I wanted to start early to make sure the barn was ready for the family reunion coming in today at noon. The barn fridge and freezer needed to be emptied and cleaned. A couple more round tables set up and more chairs brought in. I quit working at 8:30 to make breakfast then went right back to work cleaning the gym. The guests in the foaling apartment left around 10:00 am. I tried to call Braelyn but her contact is no longer in my phone so drove over. We made arrangements that I would pick her up in 20 minutes then I went to strip the beds and start the laundry only to find lots of flies in the apartment. These guests had left the door open so their golden doodle could go in and out. As soon as the laundry was started I started killing flies and did that for the next 15 minutes. I must have killed 50 or more. After picking up Braelyn I finished the barn and let the guests know they could move in at any time. Joan had signed up for Proclaim and Serve and left at 8:00 am. Rachel was at mom's from 8-10, then Ruth from 10-12 then me at noon. At 12:30 pm the man that rented the motorhome arrived and I needed to get him his truck keys. Mark was working on the mower at mom's so he came in and sat on the couch to rest while I took the golf cart over to our place to meet the man bringing the motorhome back. He told us a few things that broke on his trip. They had a great trip driving about 4500 miles. This was a family of 5 and they really enjoyed using the motorhome. They were disappointed when I explained we would not be renting it in 2026. I made it back to mom's and we had just settled down in the living room when a bird smashed into the living room window.

Another Good Day
I thought it might have died but gently flipped it over and it was breathing.
I picked it up, it seemed to improve once it was right side up.
I didn't want the cat to get it so first tried to get it in a branch up in the tree but it wouldn't budge from my hand. I put it in a flower pot to give it time to improve. Below is the video of picking it up and then having it fly away.
Diane came arrived around 3:00 so I could drive Braelyn home. the guests coming in for the foaling apartment had not yet arrived so I went back up there to hunt and kill flies and I did, killing at least 10 more. Braelyn, Mark and I left for the Giant Goose Ranch in Canton at 5:15 pm for our dinner tonight at the HUB, the goose ranch restaurant. That was a wonderful experience. Beth and Greg were there, Chad and Livie were there, Nate was there with Drake, Beth took us right into the kitchen and had Takoa make our meals while she helped Braelyn make hers. Both Mark and I ordered their taco salad.
Nate brought us special desserts. One was a large chocolate chip cookie topped with soft serve ice cream and the other was an oatmeal raison cooking topped with soft serve ice cream. No pictures they were both devoured quickly. After our delicious meal we shopped at the Goose Ranch camp store where Braelyn bought one of their special t-shirts. We drove her home before going to our house. I still needed to tease Tessa. She did not want to get too close to either stallion. I just don't want to miss her cycle but today she was not interested. Rosaleigh's eye salve was applied then I stopped in at mom's. On the way back to our house the clouds were beautiful looking like mountains in the east with the tinge of color coming from the setting sun.
The mares came down to see the sight too.
I took the golf cart into the back field to get a good picture of that red sun sinking low.
Another Good Day!
