Corrupt Illinois

All of us were able to walk this morning which was a nice way to catch up. After the walk Joan went to mom's Ruth and Diane went to work and I went to the Peoria post office to pick up the Berean mail, then to Sam's club to pick up supplies for Sunday's dinner at the Fellowship hall. Next Sunday is our invite a guest. Joan ordered the table cloths were are blue and Sam's had a plate with a few different blues that should match fine. Cutlery, clear plastic drinking cups and napkins were also purchased to finish out the table setting. I also picked up a cheese cake for the Berean volunteers tomorrow and a quart of strawberries to go on top. There was a new shipment in of fruit and they looked good and were reasonable.  Once home, Diane called, the Horsemeister taxes were done and she was able to send them by email. I was SO disappointed. I was expecting to get a refund of $2400.00 as we had to pay that in estimated taxes last year and I knew we lost money this year. Well they applied almost the entire amount within a few dollars to estimated taxes for this year and we won't get anything back.    Crazy, we don't have to pay estimated taxes, we LOST money. So if we lost money again this year will we get a refund? All of this just shows my ignorance on the tax code. Thankfully we have a good tax man. Illinois seems SO corrupt. I was able to listen to AC Central today, 2 different sermons and both were so good.
