Working With Envy

I had to quit the walk after one round in order to get to Berean in time today as not only did I need to pick up that mail at TEMCO but I had to stop in at Sam's Club to pick up a few groceries and still be at the Berean office by 9:00 am. We had a fun morning there, if you would like to read about it click HERE.  As soon as I got home I went straight up to the barn to let Rhoda know I was back then down to the house to change into barn clothes. Our first job was to move in a couple round bales, one for Roxanne and Sally's paddock and one in the short shelter paddock. The middle paddock will need 2 bales tomorrow but we wanted them to clean up the hay before giving them more. Easter Lilly will need to be moved into the short shelter tomorrow as her paddock will be out of hay but we don't want to put a bale in there as that bale is not under shelter. The next job was to bring Envy in, give her a tying lesson, groom her up, give her a leading lesson, then get some new pictures and a new video for the website. She is such an impressive filly, not even 4 months old yet and just HUGE for her age.
Below Rhoda is leading her to the round pen.
She was turned loose and did she ever show off. This filly has amazing movement.

Check out that movement in the video below:

After the video Rhoda picked up her hooves.
Then introduced her to the tarp.
She really is the perfect example of a gorgeous Friesian filly with that arched neck, the thick long mane and tail and her amazing movement. Did I mention she is for sale?  She inherited her long thick mane and tail from both her dam Indy and her sire Evan. Envy was put away as Rhoda needed to leave for the day. Karin arrived after work and I had just enough daylight to get a few pictures of her working with Indy, Envy's dam. See what I mean about the mega hair gene, check out Indy's mane in the picture below.

Once Karin was finished with Indy, Oksana was pulled out so Karin could work on her canter. By this time it was just too dark to get good pictures. Thankfully the weather was mild today and she could work the horses in outdoor and very thankful we have lights for the outdoor.
This evening we have a fire glowing in the hearth, the room is cozy and warm and both Mark and I are working in this one room. Mark is putting together a creeper he bought on Amazon to help with oil changes while I'm getting ready to settle down with a good book.
