Bethany Leaves

We awoke to another dreary drizzly gray November morning this time 6:00 am came a little brighter than yesterday. We had our time change which makes morning earlier but now it gets dark much to quick to get much done outside after work. We had quite a bit of rain but thankfully the predicted strong storms all went south.
We had another wonderful day in church. We really are a most blessed people. The Word goes out sharp and as powerful as a two edged sword piercing our hearts and souls. We in Peoria have much to pray about. In the morning Tim Funk gave us an exhortation today asking for prayer for Peoria, more on that another day. In the afternoon Mike Rieker read in Genesis the story of Joseph, first sold into slavery as a 17 year old boy, Potiphar's wife, the dreams of the baker and butler, years of prison time and finally the dream of Pharaoh and the interpretation by Joseph.
The people buying Bethany arrived after noon and Karin was willing to meet them. They loved her and were thrilled to be taking her home.

I'm always worried when someone buys a foal sight unseen and drives down  a good distance to pick the foal up. I try to be very accurate in the description of the foal, get updated pictures and videos too.  We sure don't want them to be disappointed and thankfully they were very happy.  One time Rhoda and I drove all the way to Chicago to pick up a gelding for Ponyclub. The owner had sent us a wonderful video of her eventing him but when we got there the gelding was skin and bones and had a pulled tendon. Turned out the video was taken years earlier and she forgot to mention about the pulled tendon. What a waste of most of the day, gas and wear and tear on the truck.  I NEVER want that to happen to one of our customers.
After church Mark and I worked together on a new recipe I wanted to try out for rotating potluck later this month. We invited Ruth and Fedi, mom, Nancy and Karin to try it out. They all liked it and it was not that hard to make. Later Mark took Fedi over to the farm to check out a few of our problems. Fedi took a look at the sliding door of the horse trailer and is willing to fix it. He gave Mark a great idea how to fix the back sliding door of the barn garage, He helped Mark find the leak in one of the hydraulic hoses of the skid steer. It looks like we will have to take it in for this repair. What would we ever do without Fedi? That man really is the Hungarian Handy Man.
This evening we played games at mom's. Karin had to leave for volleyball but Sarah Reinhard took her place. Of course Sarah won. Us oldies can't beat the younger generation.
A nice text came in from the lady that bought Lily's 2017 colt she named Apollo. She sent the picture below and writes: His FIRST rider. Check out the SIZE of this colt!
