Work While the Sun Shines

It was cold this morning, perfect for sleeping in until 5:30 am all snuggled up in a down comforter. We weren't the only ones that had our windows open. Mom had her's open and her furnace kicked on. That should never happen in the middle of June.
Emma was covered by Evan before the morning feeding. Mark had an electrician come today from Meister Electric, we now have electricity back in the garage. The golf cart can now stay in the garage instead of charging it in the barn each time. Valiant got a new round bale today and Sunny's paddock did too. As I was getting ready to move Valiant into the back field so I could open the shelter gate, he came trotting up and put his nose against my chest, I stepped back and hit the electric fence on my back, the shock went through me with a tremendous zing shocking Valiant too. He threw himself backward and then ran to the back of the paddock as far from me as he could get. Poor guy he wasn't sure what happened. Poor me, that was a shocking experience!
I needed to go to Middle Grove to pick up Lola and Killian. Lola is due in just over a month and Emily wants to take Killian to the PRC show on Tuesday. Mom decided it was such a nice day she wanted to come too. Mike and Diane met us at the entrance and opened the gate. Mike and mom took the truck and trailer back to where the horses were while Diane and I took the 4 wheeler. When we came up on the herd they had just heard the truck arriving and all of them were heading toward that away from us.
I was able to check over the horse. Sissy who had lost weight nursing her big filly is looking great. Paris is in amazing shape.
The only kind of thin horse was Killian. He is spending too much time chasing the girls to eat.
Mika got a bit too close to Killian and Killian now thinks he is the herd boss and of course had to challenge Mika. Bunni, Lily, Jewel and Rhiannon were scrambling to get out of the way.
Star and Twilight were staying away from the fracas watching those silly horses fight. Twilight is now ready to wean, I'll be bringing her and Lilly's colt pictured below Star and Twilight home soon to wean together.

Holly's filly came right up for some attention. She is so friendly she let me pet her all over.
Jewel's filly Rhiannon has an unbelievable amount of mane and tail for a 10 month old. I guess that is pretty normal for an Evan baby plus she is 75% Friesian. She is really friendly too enjoying a rub down today.
Lola, Prissy and Anna hang out together, at least they did until I took Lola home.
Below is mom enjoying the perfect weather and beautiful scenery on Karin's 4 wheeler.

Diane and mom came back with me and helped unload. Killian is now in with Ribbon and Lola is in the Middle paddock with Jenis, Emma and Marika.
Mark was working on the landscaping but got tired of hauling wheel barrow loads of mulch. He decided to take a break from physical labor and got on the Kabuta and groomed the driveways. That machine does a great job.
Ayanna and Violet were put in a stall when I left at noon, Ayanna stuck her head out the window to see what that racket was.
Since Killian is now here I decided to tease her with him, she wasn't interested in him but was in grazing so was let loose in the field next to Eliza and Zalena's pasture.
Those 4 horses had to come running up to meet the new baby. Ayanna is not yet ready to join the herd. She herded Violet away from the fenceline until they all went back to grazing.
It is almost 8:00pm and Mark is still outside working. Daylight will be fading soon and that's a good thing. He is going to be tired tonight.
