The morning sun was bright and warm and only then did I remember all the wet sweaty saddle pads from the rides at girls camp that were thrown in the dressing room of the horse trailer last night. When the door was opened the stench was almost physical. The pads were put out on the trampoline to dry.
Peoria was full today for the wedding of Dennis and Cathy and what a blessed day it was. It was so full that Hannah accidentally got left at church. We were almost home when she called to see where we were. Diane and Mike were called to see if they had left but they were already in Bellevue, Ruth and Fede were called next, they had just left and were more than willing to turn around and pick her up. Thank goodness for lots of family living out here that all go to the same church. The day was still beautiful when we left for the reception at 4:00 pm.
The fellowship hall was decorated beautifully set up with a buffet inside and outside in a tent a stand with wonderful flavors of home made ice cream, different decorated cupcakes, peach tea, water and coffee. We had finished our dinner and had gone out to the tent for dessert when an announcement was made that a storm was coming through and everything was being moved inside.
Since we were finished we started for home and drove straight into the storm. The sky was black and the rain was coming down in sheets but by the time we were within 2 miles of our place the rain had lightened to a sprinkle. Rachel had hosted the young group for a hike to Rocky Glen and a cookout at the lake. There were cars parked all over but no one around when mom was dropped off and by the looks of the volley ball court it was obvious Hanna City got dumped on big time. Mark had not gone to the reception and reported we even had hail. Ralph and Jamie were suppose to be bringing over a piano today but we could see another storm heading for Hanna City and sure enough within a few minutes that one hit and the rain just kept coming. We decided it was not a good time to move a piano. Just a few minutes ago I remembered about the saddle pads laying on the tramp drying. I"m sure they are totally soaked now, if the wind hasn't blown them off the trampoline they may be able to dry tomorrow. Karin was hosting a youth group for trail riding at Middle Grove, if they didn't ride before 5:00 pm I'm sure they were rained out.
