Above Hannah is getting ready to take Bonnie on the trail ride, what we have discovered is that Bonnie does great bareback. Below they are heading out with Karin and Ava on Sunny, Faith on Misty and Hannah riding Bonnie.
In the next four pictures Hannah is round penning Bonnie and ends the session with a bow.
Bonnie is such a fancy flashy pony with extreme leg action.
The names were chosen for the next 3 fillies to be registered. Holly's filly is now Victoria, Star's filly is Twilight and Ayanna's filly is Violet. Since they are now named the registration papers could be filled out and mailed in. Now all the foals on the ground are registered. Still yet to foal is Marika due July 8th, Lola due July 19th, Ella due July 27th, Jewel due Aug 7th and Bunni due Sept 20th.
As the weather was cool and dry Ayanna and Violet were let out of the stall, Ayanna to graze and Violet to run.
and run
and run
and run some more.
She was having a ball galloping around her mom. Violet is very friendly, she would gallop around her mom then come running right up to me for some attention. After a good scratch she would gallop back to her mom. We had something funny happen today. CILCO came out to figure out where the meters were. They read the house meter but then were walking around the barn looking for more meters. There were 2 men in 2 different trucks, they had come from the lake houses and couldn't find the meters there so thought the meters for all those houses must be here. I had to explain the meter is on Spark's house as his was the first one here, the rest of the houses don't have meters.Check out the picture below, this came in from Cynthia the owner of Olivia.
Olivia is out of Jewel by Evan. I can't believe how much she looks like her dad, her face is his face but a bit more feminine. Cynthia writes: I thought you would enjoy this recent pic of Olivia. Olivia will be 2 on August 30, so we have been doing lots of groundwork. Such a sweet baby! Thank you so much for her!
We had a trailer load of square bales come this evening. While waiting for the truck a big fat fox went running from the field over across the dam. Mark made the comment we sure don't have rabbits around any more. I don't like to use square bales they are labor intensive and not cost effective but they sure make it easy when we are stall feeding. The bales are not big or heavy but they didn't cost much either. Mark and I helped the driver unload them then moved the cow round bale feeder and a round bale into Raven's old paddock. Ribbon was moved into that paddock. That is the only round bale feeder she doesn't destroy. When Killian comes back he can go in there with her. That paddock is set up for stallions and is well electrified. The middle paddock also got a new round bale, there are only 2 horses in there right now but we will be bringing back a few from Middle Grove.Very good news came in on Jenis today. Her culture is clean. We can go ahead and breed her.
