Today must be the day for wishful thinking. One email came in from a college student asking for an internship with our farm. She writes:
The college requires the experience to be a paid position and to document a minimum of 40 hours per week of on the job training. Many times, room and board are figured into the wages.
How could we hire someone for 40 hours a work a week, pay them and give them a place to live? Horsemeister would need to be a much larger operation than our little business. Another email came today from a lady wanting to borrow one of our mares, not just any mare but a FULL papered mare, she would return her in a year and a half. Why would we even want to do that?
A third email was from a lady wondering if we would be willing to trade Jenis or her colt for her 14 year old paint mare. The mare is about 14 hands, can't be ridden but is a good brood mare. YEP we for SURE are interested in that trade. (that was sarcasm)
Eva Jean was late today, she called yesterday to remind me that she would not be able to come in until around 12:30pm. All was going well until the computer was turned on, then it was WHERE'S PHIL? There was a virus on the work computer. Thank goodness we have a computer expert right there at work. Philip got the computer cleaned up and working but that put him a bit late delivering a bunch of equipment, had to make a quick stop and a pipe went right through his back window. Some days just don't go as well as others.
After lunch Spark and Jacob delivered the light poles for the arena. He will need to bring out a boom truck to install them, they are 40 feet long.
Above Spark and Jacob are unloading the lightpole supplies.
Frannie Meier's visitation is tonight, if Mark gets home from work in time we will go together, if not I'll catch a ride with someone out here. Going to skip choir tonight to make it but feel it is important to go if at all possible. Just last week we practiced at the Skyline home, Spark and Rhonda stopped in to see Frannie, Spark told him they were here for choir practice and Frannie pipes in with, "good we could use some firecrackers around here." When one is over 90 years old sometimes the hearing isn't the best.
