Double Wedding Shower

While cleaning today AC central was turned on. What a wonderful service that website is for those wanting to hear inspired sermons.  Today while scrolling through the many listed, I noticed Rick Plattner had been in Sabetha so clicked on the morning service of Jan 6th, 2019. Just a little background on why I chose Rick's sermon.  Rick was in the young group with us growing up in Peoria. We all knew in our hearts that he was minister material WAY back at age 16 and weren't at all surprised when he was put in the ministry. When Rick moved to Fairbury to become the director of the Fairbury Home, I was saddened to think we wouldn't be able to hear him speak much if at all for years. It didn't surprise us that not only was Rick put in the ministry in Fairbury, he also became the elder of that church. Well with technology today not only can we listen on line on Sunday or Wednesday, we can listen any day of the week. His sermon really was Spirit inspired and just exactly what I needed to hear today. I'm so very thankful for all of those that have been called to the ministry and are willing to serve!
This evening was the double wedding shower for Anni & Matt and Jessica & Clayton.  Mom bought the chicken salad, Diane picked up all of the other food and Rhonda brought the paper products.  Our littlest helper was Zion, but we had lots of help. Almost all of the girl cousins came to help and they brought their girls to help.
Below are the pictures from the shower. We started with croissants filled with chicken salad that had all kinds of good things mixed in like slivered blanched almonds, craisens, celery, lettuce, and a little onion,
those were followed by chips and mixed nuts,
next was the gourmet jelly beans
Fresh strawberries
and finished up with strawberry short cake.
Matt had the prayer so he and Anni got to go first followed by Clayton and Jessica.
We had a big turnout for this shower and a good time was had by all.

If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from the shower click HERE.  We had many people help with the clean up and were able to get home at a decent time. It was snowing earlier and the driveway was slick at the fellowship hall but the roads were fine for driving home. Mom mentioned the snow was beautiful sparkling in the light. We are SO done with snow and winter and SO ready for spring.
