Party at the Goose Ranch

Emily decided after a terrible night in pain not to travel to Colorado for the week. Even though this was diagnosed as a sprain we are still wondering if her wrist may be broken. She is at home in Forrest, IL for the weekend.
Before breakfast the horses were fed and teased. Jenis is still in and covered, Emma still is not showing any signs of coming back in so hopefully she is bred. Lola is bagging up. I didn't feel comfortable leaving her out today as I knew we were going to be gone all day at the Goose Ranch. Sarah, Ben, Taunya, Addyson, Jack, Jace, David, Stephanie, and Israel all stayed the night and came for breakfast. After breakfast they all helped load the trailer with everything we needed for the day. Even Jack and Addyson pitched in and helped by washing out the water buckets. Jenis and Anna were bathed,  Lola was stalled then came the loading. Sarah helped with that. Sissy, Hadassah, Jenis and Anna were loaded up for the trip to Middle Grove. Rebekah Kummer came along to help with the pony rides at the Goose Ranch. When we arrived at Middle Grove, Karin had an entire crew of helpers there holding the horses that were scheduled for this trip. Sissy and Hadassah were unloaded and left at Middle Grove while Sally, Star, Cookie and Missy were put in my trailer with Jenis and Anna. Mike had the stock trailer hooked up to his truck. That trailer hauled Mika, Jewel, Bunni and Indy.
We arrived at the Giant Goose Ranch by 11:00 am and and the unloading went well. There was plenty of help to tack up the 10 horses. We just had one small problem we were short a saddle but thankfully had thrown in the youth saddle which was put on Missy. Karin took the first group out with our helpers for a practice run and to see how long it would take to do the trail.

They made it back in about 20 minutes. Missy and Cookie were going to be used for the pony rides.
Hannah and the camera lady rode them over to Director's point where all the carnival games were set up.
Below Anni is leading Jenis and Anna after the first ride to tie up to the trailer to await the customers.
We unloaded all the supplies and machines for popcorn and cotton candy into a mule car and took that to directors point to set up for the party. We were actually very very busy selling popcorn, cotton candy, slushies, and ice cream cones. I took one short break to get a few pictures.

The break didn't last very long by the time I got back there was quite a line for cotton candy, although Rhonda was doing a fair job at taking my place. We planned on leaving the goose ranch at 7:00 pm. The rain started during the dinner and it just kept coming. We quit a few minutes early, got the horses loaded and started driving out when I hit a tree with the trailer and got stuck. Thankfully Mike was still there, he pulled out his chain saw and cut down the tree.
Unfortunately the fender bent enough it was touching the tire. Mike had to grab another tool to bend it enough so I could drive.
We drove through heavy rain, unloaded the horses at Middle Grove in the rain and unloaded Jenis in the rain once we made it back to Hanna City. The worst part about this storm is the hay is still down, it did not get baled. I'll have to try to sell this and buy hay for the winter.
