Camping at Middle Grove

As tomorrow is our country's independence day and a holiday we made arrangements to camp at Middle Grove tonight but before we could head out work needed to be done here first. Emily gave Hannah a lesson on Bonnie today and I got home just in time to watch.
above Emily is explaining bit pressure and below she is demonstrating canter leads.

The lesson went extremely well. Horses were teased, Hadassah is now out, Jenis is still in. Emma still needs to be teased. Andrew finished up the trailer around 5:00 pm so Mark gave me a ride down to the shop to pick it up. When we arrived the keys were no where in sight. Turns out Andrew wasn't quite done so hid the keys so I wouldn't drive away with the trailer. It is finished now and looks great. Sarah, Emily, Mike, Diane, Phil, Anna and Braelyn had already arrived at the camp ground. Diane was at the cottage so we jumped on Karin's 4 wheeler and headed over to the lake where Phil, Anna, Braelyn and Taegan were fishing from the canoe. We got on the pontoon boat, drifted over to the canoe and picked up the girls for a boat ride on the lake. Below are a few pictures of the evening.
Above the girls are enjoying the ride, below Ebby is too.

We came around a bend and saw the herd grazing on the hillside
we let the pontoon boat drift quietly toward land and watched Jewel come down for a drink.

Below Phil and Anna are fishing from the canoe the herd of horses are off to the left behind them.
The evening was just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Next we took the girls on a 4 wheeler ride around the entire perimeter of the land so we could admire the fence line. Of course we didn't just admire the fence, there is beauty throughout that land. The rolling hills, dense woods, open valleys and clear deep lakes make it a horse paradise. By the time we got back to the campground the riders were ready to head back out.

We finished the evening cooking slabs of bacon around the campfire.
