So this morning it is not as cold, only 2 below zero instead of 4-10 below. The dogs went with me to help take care of the foals, then to the farm this morning. Clara needed to be checked on and fed and Raven grained. After taking care of her and seeing that her udder has actually gone down a little instead of filling up it was over to mom's to meet the walkers. Emma got to play with Ebby, Diane had her in her front pack but Ebby was so excited to get out she jumped out of the pack.
Once everything was done at the farm it was time to get down to work to pay the first of the month bills already late, this is the 4th and they are usually paid on the first, oh well, hopefully everyone will understand about the holiday, then the weekend.
Today the house MUST be cleaned, dishes, and laundry done. Everything at the house was put off because of the big party then showing horses in the cold and of course we couldn't do it yesterday, it was SUNDAY our day of rest. Speaking of Sunday, the quartet at the hymnsing was fantastic. The high tenor was from Roanoke the other three from Gridley. Mark recognized one of them as a former roommate of David's at ISU and had to go talk to him. They sang one song that Nancy started clapping once done. After they sat down mom made the comment, "wouldn't dad have LOVED that." They sang a variety of songs from spirituals to quiet worship. Their blend was so good one could not tell who was singing what part. We were so pleased we made the effort to go on that very cold night. At least the fellowship hall was warmer than our house.
