It Didn't Rain

We had a cold cloudy damp muddy, oh so muddy day but no actual rain. It seems we are done with this slow moving event and sunny days should be here soon. Maybe even tomorrow.  A group of our Sunday afternoon volley ball players played at the marigold festival in Pekin this morning and WON the tournament.
Ruth's daughter Anni is holding the trophy, Rachel's daughter Jessica is standing at the far right. Rachel's son Caleb is right behind Anni, Drew is next to Anni and Ruth's son-in-law Brian is standing next to Drew.  Tyler and Samantha are the couple on the far left. Congratulations!
Mark and I spent most of the morning on working outside repairing the driveways after close to 5 inches of rain over the last 3 days.  This afternoon we worked on the indoor arena, moving the pallet load of bedding in, old pallets out, the straw stacked and equipment moved.  Hopefully the weather will co-operate and the hay will be cut, dried, and baled this week.  We need at least 80 more bales.
Mom accused Karin of Elder abuse today. First Karin emptied out mom's freezer and mom had to work hard placing the frozen food in 4 piles, the save pile, the garbage pile, the dog pile and a pile for the fish.  Karin went to Dollar General and picked up trays that fit perfectly in the freezer.  That was a big job and after that mom was done but Karin had 2 left over containers so went into the laundry room to organize the cupboards.. At that point mom put her foot down and strongly said, "NO MORE, this is elder abuse!" Actually we were all thrilled Karin did the freezer, she is the hero around here for that activity. No one else wanted to tackle that freezer.
Karin came over here then to help me get Sheena's leg wounds cleaned and wrapped. The wounds are all healing well but cannot get wet or muddy so she must be stalled. Indy and Oksana were put in the far shelter as the one they are in is just too muddy.
Mark helped move a new bale in the middle paddock. When I was cutting the net wrap off I got a little careless and ended up cutting my left index finger pretty deep. It never pays to be in a hurry when using sharp knives.
I think Karin worked horses, her dog came over and came in the house through Emma's doggy door for a visit. I was doing laundry so didn't go out and am not sure which horses she worked.
Another booking came in for Friday and Saturday night. A couple with their dog are coming in for another wedding. Seems there are a lot of weddings around here lately.
