Above is the puppy we call Miss T as she has a white T on her chest and below is the pup that Rhoda considered pick of the litter. She was the largest pup and is now probably the most fat. She always finds her way to the milk bar FIRST!
Emily drove from Forrest, IL straight to Middle Grove to check on the horses, the automatic waterer and to put in more bales. She reported all three foals out there were so friendly coming right up to her. She checked over all the horse and recommended we wean Sally's colt as she is losing weight nursing her big black colt Phoenix. We may as well wean all 3 of the foals together but may have to wait until we find a way to get water to a couple of paddocks. Emily is really enjoying driving Mike's big truck, she said she can drive right back to the horses without a problem even in 8 inches of new snow. Mark and I moved a bale in for the Middle Paddock. Ribbon is now showing that she is in season. We will try to breed her tomorrow to Killian and if that doesn't work we will use Valiant. Star's new filly is doing well, she has the thickest longest coat I've ever seen on a newborn and the bonus is that it is silver tipped which means she should end up blue black. Star is not being a good mother though, that filly has to work to nurse. Star will stand well if anyone is in the stall threatening her but when I walked out she kicked at the filly and tried to bite her. This was going on most of Saturday and by this morning I thought Star was getting better but after church I saw the same disappointing behavior. The filly is getting good at snatching drinks. It is very cold again, single digits and suppose to drop below zero tonight. After work tomorrow Emily and I plan on getting Sissy and her filly outside for new pictures. We need to start teasing Sissy also. The super bowl is today but we heard it is a blow out. We were invited to watch it at Phil and Anna's but really only appreciate the commercials so decided to give that invite a pass.
