Old Pictures

I needed to be at mom's by 7:00 am today because Joan was needed to be at Lifepoints for an all day meeting scheduled today. Before going inside though I had to stop to take a picture of the maple tree off mom's deck.

Mom was still in bed when I arrived, but awake and had been admiring the burning bush right outside her bedroom window. She is glad to be back in time for the beautiful fall colors. The trip home from Gulf Shores went well all except the lift chair stopped working and the van started making a lot of noise. They weren't sure it would make it home but they did just before midnight. I got the lift chair out of the van by myself and was able to get it into her house. Once in the living room flipped it upside down to see if I could find any loose or broken wires. There were some so I asked Mark to come with his tools and meter.
Once Mark put the wires together the chair had power and would lift but not lower. Spark was called and he came right over.
They worked two hours on that chair but couldn't get it to work correctly. Spark thinks the actual switch is broken. He was sure we had one that he had already repaired in the house. Karin was called but she didn't know where that would be. Joan knew where a new power supply was but not the switch.  I took the switch from the other lift chair and put it on mom's but that didn't work at all. We will need to find out what brand and order a new switch. In the mean time mom will have to use the other lift chair which Nancy claims. Ruth came over at 9:00 am so I could run to Sam's club to pick up the food for Sunday dinner. We will have fajitas with 3 different kinds of meat. I have pork, steak and taco meat (well I'll have to make that tomorrow) I left about 9:15 am and got the shopping done and all the groceries put away and was back at mom's by 10:30 am. Spark left about that time but came back with a flash drive of old pictures. Lots of pictures of both sets of grand parents, all of dad's brothers, their wives and lots of our cousins.
There were a lot of pictures of people mom knew but we didn't. We had to laugh at the clothes mom put on Spark and John, we laughed at how funny Spark, John, Eddie, Bob, Mike, Mark and Skip looked when they were 3 and 4 years old and then how dorky they looked as teenagers. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon. It has been raining on and off today and not very nice at all.
