Middle Grove Check UP

No walk today so extra time was spent reading this morning while Mark fed the cat and walked the neighborhood. I went up to check on Missy and the weanlings and was disappointed to see Missy was back in the middle paddock up at the gate calling for Jewel and Sally while the 4 weanlings were still in their paddock. It is a little hard to see in the picture below but Missy is far left, you can see the blaze on her face while the 4 weanlings are standing at their buckets waiting for grain.

Missy was moved back in with them and give some grain too.
After breakfast we worked on the camper table top.
As soon as we finished that it was taken over to the camper and put back in place.
Rachel and Dave came driving up with their jeep and Quinton.

Mark invited some ladies from Wheaton to come here on Wednesday next week so this morning he worked on cleaning up ALL of the tools, painting supplies and other stuff out of the rec-room which we think should be spelled wreck room. That room was getting pretty crowded with building supplies. I was cleaning off the table and picked up 2 black screws and 2 allen wrenches and was proud of myself, I threw them away. These were leftovers from the bunk beds and not worth the effort to take them to the back garage. I worked on the upstairs organizing the closets and the bedrooms. Diane gave us some of her chicken and vegetable soup which was heated up for lunch. After lunch I drove out to Middle Grove to check on the Gypsy mares to make sure they were with the herd and that they were drinking. I took the video below of them coming down to drink.

I spent some time getting pictures of the foals out there. Below is Dreamer, Madiera's filly by Valiant born Sept 9th, 2025.

She is shedding out and looks black but is really a dark bay. She is considered a Warlander (half Friesian half Andalusian, she will have lots of hair and will be tall with a good mind and athletic enough for any discipline. She was born Sept 9th, 2025 and wont be ready for her new home until January or February. She is for sale $6000.00 and we will accept payments with balance due when she is picked up by Feb 2026.
Below are pictures of Bulu's colt by Valiant.
He took looks like he is shedding out black but is really a dark bay. He was born June 27th, 2025, is half Friesian and half Thoroughbred and is for sale $4500.00 He is not yet named and his papers haven't been sent in yet so if you want a tall athletic colt that will look like a fancy European warmblood you can name him and we will get him registered.  He can be weaned in December and would make a wonderful Christmas gift.
We have two 2 year olds out at Middle Grove. Below is 2 year old Thalia.
She will be brought in next year and bred to Evan. Below is 2 year old Oliver
He is maturing very nicely.
Lily was standing with Jury and Cookie. My first thought was where is Mika as those 2 were always together and if it wasn't Mika it was Sangria but with both of them gone now Jury and Cookie have taken their places as companion to the boss mare.
It was interesting, Oliver went over to Jewel they squealed and struck out. Lily immediately nickered and went right over to them to break it up and they did. If I hadn't seen it and heard it myself I wouldn't have believed it. The Gypsy mares were hanging back from the herd but were keeping them in sight. Oliver went over a couple times to invite them to come in.
Crabby mares did not want them in yet. Below Madiera is asking them to move away.
I was glad to see Harli come down to drink. Izzy, Pictured in front didn't follow her to the water so she must not have been thirsty.

This evening we drove the golf cart over to see the progress on Mike's new barn. The sun was setting and turned the building pink.

Good news came back from the stress test yesterday. There are NO blockages so no more excuses of feeling too tired to do housework.
