Baths at 12 degrees

We woke up to a frigid morning all of 2 degrees. At least it was above zero and not below but who would ever think it would be this cold on March 5th? Trying to load the horses on such thick solid ice isn't a good idea so the stock trailer was parked inside the barn and the other trailer was parked in the snow. Once the 9 horses were loaded we needed to move the 2 mares with the new fillies out to the paddocks. Indy and her 4 day old filly were moved to the breeding shed paddock while Star and her 2 day old filly were moved to Killian's paddock since Killian was now on the trailer.
We pulled out at 8:15 am arriving at 9:30 am and went straight to work unloading supplies and horses. Rhoda and Emily got to work on bathing the horses while Sarah and Hannah would work on manes and tails once the horses were bathed. We had the wash racks to ourselves so one bay was used for bathing and the other used for drying, combing and brushing manes, tails and feather.
Above is Ayanna getting bathed by Rhoda and below Emily is bathing Zalena.

Above Hannah is fluffing up Ribbon's feather and below Sarah is working on Eliza's mane while Hannah combs out Eliza's tail.

Above Killian is getting lead out for his bath and below Valiant is getting fancied up by Hannah.
We finished by 1: 30 pm packed up and headed to the hotel. We are staying at the Drury Inn and Suites this time. This hotel is amazing, it has a nice big hot, hot tub which we all made our way as fast as possible to get in to warm up. What a wonderful way to relax. Karin held the Friesian practice at 5:00 pm with all the riders then took care of the horses for the night while Amy, Rhoda and I enjoyed dinner at the hotel. Most of the riders are now sitting in the hot tub warming up from a cold practice. We have 3 rooms, Amy, Karin, Rhoda and I are in the old lady room and will be heading to bed soon, not that we are old or anything.
