Notice the winter coats, it was cold again with lots of wind.
Mark saw the parent fox walking down to his pond for a drink then watched as a goose chased it off.
Right after the walk I loaded up Jenis and took her to Middle Grove. She was out this morning so can go out on grass for three weeks. It is amazing we have grass growing, we had another freeze last night. Below Jenis is taking off for the hills in search of the herd.
The weather was suppose to warm up into the 50s so Rhoda helped me put Zalena and her colt outside. He sure has presence for only 1 day old.
He should have had his face washed in the picture below, it is full of dried milk from mom.
Ayanna, Eliza, Marika and Zalena were de-wormed today with a double dose of Panacur. When Rhoda and Emily arrived home from school they got out Ayanna and Indy to work first then take on the trails. Below is a short video of Ayanna, check out the ending, Rhoda asks for some free work.
Rhoda tacked her up and worked her in the field until Emily came out with Indy. Below are a few pictures of these fantastic mares and their fantastic riders!
They had a really good trail ride, both mares were just about perfect.
Emily helped tease mares, Holly refused Valiant, she was so worried about her filly she wouldn't even let him come anywhere near. Valiant was very well behaved not rushing in. That was disappointing as we were sure she was showing yesterday. Anna was teased and showed to Evan but not to Valiant. She is going to be a another hard one to tell when she is really in. Prissy said no straight off. I may spend the money to get Prissy and Anna sonagrammed to see where they are with their cycle. After Mark came home from work, he and Emily started working on trails. It is important to work on them before the vegetation grows. They are going to make a nice easy beginner trail.
Ralph and Jamie came over this evening to give Paris a good groom, then came in for a visit. It was a beautiful but very windy day.
