It's RAINING!

We got a 5 minute shower this evening but the drops came crashing down hard, almost felt like hail. Mark and I were out in it moving the saddles from the back of the truck into the truck and just got the last one in when the heaven's opened. The sun broke through the clouds just a few minutes later and calm prevailed. We would have loved to see this stick around but the storms have moved off quickly. Cor Arainna, the mare that impaled herself yesterday found a way while she was stalled to cut her hip open enough she needed stitches again! She had a 10:00am appointment at Hoerr vet clinic and today stood well for her 6 stitches.
Why this mare throws herself backwards is just plain weird, and what in the world did she cut herself on in a stall? Once back, Cor was unloaded, Jenis & her filly stalled and the 2 paint mares, Lola and Prissy loaded into the stock trailer for their trip to paradise. Both mares are now out of season and can go out on the new land with the herd for the next 18 days. The video below was them meeting the herd for the first time. We thought there may be more running but all of them decided it is just too hot. Karin had the 4 horses heading back to the farm haltered with lead ropes attached. They were also let go to meet the girls. Once the video camera was put down, Karin loaded Zalena and Ciera while I grabbed Mika. Before I could get Mika to the trailer Ayanna, Indy and Killian were getting in the trailer.
They were shooed out so Mika could load.
Bunni had gone down to the lake which was quite a distance, Karin took the truck to lead her back:
We were so hot and thirsty by the time we arrived back at the farm we could hardly unload the horses fast enough to get inside the airconditioning for a big long ice cold refreshing drink of water. Neither Mike's truck which Karin was driving nor my truck has working air. Sarah stopped in after work, she and Karin drove to Hanna City to see the progress Rachel has made on her rental house. Right after they left Nate Herman arrived to pick up the golf cart for tomorrow's trip to Henry. He saw Sarah's car, jumped in, drove it to the end of the lane, locked it up tight and hid the keys on the top of her car. He is a brave brave man, either that or not too smart. Mark grilled hamburger for dinner which was served with one of our vine ripened tomatoes, sauteed vandalia sweet onion, and a baked sweet potato drenched in butter. Clair and Ciera were covered by Evan today, Clair in the morning and Ciera tonight.
