There was only time for one round of the walk this morning before heading in to work. The studies were picked up at TEMCO, only about half of them opened before Mark called. He wanted me in the upstairs office working on Bridlewood Apartment books and the MB Land trust books for the tax preparer. Once those were finished it was back to the downstairs office to process what seemed like hundreds of studies. We broke for lunch about 12:30pm and headed for Denny's. After lunch a deposit needed to be driven to Bartonville bank and then the cash from the sale of popcorn taken to CEFCU. That poor teller counting over $300.00 single dollar bills that were all stuffed in 3 different popcorn bags. Finally it was time to head home. Steven showed up right after I walked in the door to take Ribbon out to Middle Grove for her well earned vacation. We decided to take Izadora also and bring back Cindy and Ciera. Cindy for her coggins test scheduled tomorrow morning 10:00am and Ciera to start teasing. She is to be bred to Evan. We have 10 horses out there now, a least Steven counted 10. Both of us weren't sure but we thought there was suppose to be 11 out there but neither of us could figure out who was missing so perhaps we were wrong.
Mom dropped a bombshell on us today, she gave her 2 week notice at St. Francis. She has been volunteering in the nursery for years every Monday. After giving her notice, she told just a few of the nurses she works with and just a few hours later it seemed the entire hospital knew. When she was asked why, she replied, "I'm almost 80 years old and don't want to take a chance of dropping a baby." That's a pretty good excuse.
The rest of the day for me was spent cleaning and doing laundry. The sheets are washed and the place is clean enough to have company. Good thing Amy came over for a short visit. Actually the floors still weren't finished but who cares about floors when there is best friends over. The phone rang quite a bit today, all from well wishers for tomorrow. The phone charger must have been left in Springfield meaning we probably need to stop at the shop on our way in to the hospital. I am to be at the hospital at 7:30am with surgery scheduled for 10:00am.
This wasn't much of a day of rest, but we are heading to bed now so perhaps the rest of the time will be spent sleeping.
