The Day Before

Today after our walk, mom cooked Diane and I a delicious breakfast. We had brown fresh eggs, whole wheat toast, bacon, tomatoes, and fresh squeezed orange juice and of course mom served ME coffee. Diane doesn't drink the stuff, she thinks it is a nasty habit! Today is the day before the rehearsal lunch and hog roast. This is the day that the supplies are to be purchased. The first stop was Sams where all the picnic supplies are the best price. We now have 250 plates, a pile of napkins, 280 cold cups, 160 hot cups, 600 forks, spoons and knives, cup cakes, and brownies. I also bought a rack of ribs for our dinner tonight but when I got home Mark was there for lunch so we ate them!
Down to Rabers to pay for the hog. We got 180 pounds of dressed hog at $1.09 a pound plus a $90.00 charge for custom cooking. That means the hog was around 240 pounds live weight. We also got 2 HUGE slabs of smoked bacon rind on for cooking around the camp fire.
Then to Krogers for 20 bags of hamburger buns along with 3 McDonald gift certificates for the waitresses at the lunch and another to Applebees as a thank you to Gail for organizing the lunch. I had no idea you could buy McDonald and Applebees gift certificates at Kroger. Then to Hallmark to buy the place cards. Over to the office for Krystal to print off the labels to put on the place cards and finally home. The weather should be beautiful for the hog roast.
