Eclipse

No walk today, instead the party potatoes were started and finished by 7:45 am. Diane picked them up to take them to church. I picked up mom and Aunt Jinnie and we made it to church by 9:20 am in plenty of time to get in line for the visitation and still make it into the church before the funeral started. Amy met us there then we all entered the sanctuary. It was so good to be there. Tim Roecker started the funeral service, Craig Stickling had most of the service and David finished up the service. Click HERE to watch that.  Lunch at church was the typical funeral lunch. Fried chicken, party potatoes, green beans, salad and rolls then lots of different desserts to choose from.  We got home during the eclipse. Karin had us come right out on the deck to watch. It was a warm 73 degrees and sunny. Below mom is wearing the glasses watching as the moon moves slowly over the sun.

Aunt Jinnie went in to get changed into a pair of shorts to enjoy the sunshine but as the moon made it's way over taking away the sunshine the temperature dropped very quickly by 8 degrees.  Mom asked for a blanket, Aunt Jinnie got her winter coat on then asked for a blanket then mom wanted a second blanket.
Joan came over with her telescope and took the pictures below.
I left then for Sam's club to pick up the dessert for the Berean volunteers tomorrow.  Uncle Johnny and Aunt Marylu were driving home from Arizona back to Michigan and stopped here for the night on their way home. Karin made dinner for them. Spark, Rhonda, Mark and I joined them for dessert. We had fun visiting. Uncle Johnny lived in Germany for a year so Rhonda went home to get her great grandpa's papers in hopes that Uncle Johnny could translate them.
One was his birth certificate and the other his citizenship papers.
We had a wonderful time visiting with them.

What a good day and an enjoyable evening.
