Plowing

We were both up before 5:00 and had to wait a few minutes for the coffee to finish. The patio lights were turned on to see how much snow came during the night. Mark went out to start shoveling as soon as it was light enough to see.

When that was finished he walked over to mom's to see what needed to be done and met up with Ruth who arrived to walk. Mark walked with Ruth then met up with Joan and the 3 ended up at the barns.
Mark dropped out there to get into the skid steer to start plowing the drives while Ruth and Joan continued their walk.
I baked biscuits, got a pan of bacon frying and had the eggs beaten ready to scramble as soon as Mark walked in from plowing. HE was out plowing for 2 solid hours and was more than ready for breakfast. After breakfast Mark cleaned up then left for an estimate. After getting the kitchen cleaned up I left for Aldi's to pick up food for the Sunday meal and when I got home made lunch to take to mom's house.
The food was good, the company even better.  Diane arrived after lunch to play games but I needed to leave. Valiant was almost out of hay and with the extreme cold coming I wanted to get a new bale in for him. I had to find a halter to put on him so he could be tied at the end of the shelter as I didn't have any help today. Once he was tied the truck was backed out of the arena then a bale put on the tractor and brought over to put in his paddock. He didn't like being tied but once the hay was in and he was loose he was happy again.
Just as I finished and was heading back down to the house the snow started falling again.
Dan wrote a new song yesterday and this is what he sent:
This was inspired from several musical artists from the 70's and up including Billy dean Credence Gordon lightfoot Barry McGuire Three dog night The Mamas and the Papas Kenny Rogers Beatles Cinderella Bread And David Bowie. It is a compilation of several lyrics from different songs from that prophetic era, much like the P.F. Sloan song "Eve of Destruction" performed by Barry McGuire was taken from newspaper headlines and was subsequently canceled by several radio stations for being too controversial.
This evening the temperature is dropping quickly and the wind has picked up gusting and slamming into the house. The snow is supposed to start back up but only an inch or two added to what is on the ground. The main problem besides the extreme cold coming will be the visibility outside. The wind is blowing the snow sideways. By tomorrow night the temperature is predicted to be -1. It has started falling now and will continue to fall and bottom out at -11 actual by Sunday morning. Scary what the wind chill 'realfeel' will be if the wind doesn't stop. Peoria church as already called off services for Sunday along with a lot of other churches.
