Party Time

It was so cold this morning that the door going out to the porch had a thick layer of ice INSIDE the house.

For a close up of the ice check out the picture below.
Mark and I were due at mom's to take her to church at 8:45 am. It is a good thing we got there early. The wheelchair van would not start and the hood was frozen. It took both of us to get the hood up to get the charger on. Then once mom was in the van the ramp would not go back inside. Winter sure makes everything hard. We made it to church with 15 minutes to spare. Ruth had already arrived with Nancy and she was so glad to see us. Tim Funk had a shortened message and started it with a story about getting shocked. Of course my mind went straight to the time I was 10 years old, we had company at Pleasant home and there were a bunch of girls around my age. I took them out to see the horses and when I reached the electric fence made a big deal telling them, "you NEVER want to touch this wire, it is electrified and you will get a shock if you touch it." Of course when I went to open the gate wouldn't you know I grabbed the wire instead of the insulated handle, my hand wouldn't let go, I'm kind of yelling, ahhhhhhh and finally let go, turned to the group of girls and calmly said, "and that is why you never want to touch the wire. Pretending I did it on purpose. Pride, just too much pride. Anyway the message was short but good. Click HERE if you would like to watch it. At lunch Hannah had some pictures and videos of her ultrasound. She was showing mom one in the picture below. As the technician was running the wand, her baby girl stuck her foot right up against the wand and it looks like she is expecting a foot.
Below is a better picture of her tiny foot.
Mom was wearing her new outfit from Aunt Jinnie. Ruth took a picture and sent it by text to Aunt Jinnie and is showing mom the picture in the picture below.
Caleb Plattner had the afternoon message on Gen 1 Click HERE to watch that. When church was over Nancy quickly put her hat back on.
Ruth wouldn't let her wear it in the sanctuary. As soon as we got home Mark was going to plow the barn parking lot with the skid steer but that wouldn't start so he brought down the little Kubota and did his best with that machine.
Today was the surprise retirement party for Ruth and Fedi. Ruth was really surprised.
That group was welcome to stay for the next party which was Zeke's birthday party. We added our spaghetti supper to their party food and there was an abundance of delicious dishes to choose from.

After supper came the birthday party.
Zeke really enjoyed that cupcake.
This party had a lot of kids and all of them had fun.
After the party there was bouncy house for the little ones and volley ball games for the bigger ones.
Below is a short video of some of the fun.
