Holiday Party

We sure had a good time on the walk this morning, lots of laughs and good bonding time. Diane was telling us how she worked so hard to entertain her 4 year old grandson the last time he spent the night playing 'horsey" with him, Hungry Hippo, and a bunch of other games. She was telling us what he said yesterday as she asked him this time, "are you excited about coming to grandma's house?" and hearing him say, "not really,  it is boring at grandma's house".  We burst out laughing.
As today is the first of the month, I needed to head down to Meisters to pay the first of the month bills, then to Sams Club for groceries and dog food. I barely made it back in time to pick up mom for the holiday party at Nancy's workshop. That was kind of unorganized. They were selling crafts but no one was around to take the money. We watched Frosty the Snowman on television then went into the other room for the music. They had a choir sing and Nancy knew all the songs. We stayed until 1:30 pm then headed home. The laundry was just about finished when Mark got home. He was needed to help move a couple round bales in before dark. The middle paddock got a new one and the other paddock that needed one was Sally and Roxanne's paddock. We had another beautiful day, hard to believe it is the first day of December. Jenis and Zalena are looking great, both of these mares were brought in from Middle Grove for Karin to work on getting them fit and both are now getting grain to bulk them up.  Both of these mares will be performing as canter horses for the show.

The three pictures above are of Jenis and the 3 pictures below are of Zalena. Just check out the muscle on these mares.

The other mare that gets grain is Roxanne as she is nursing her big colt. It isn't easy feeding her though, Sally has to be first removed from the paddock. If that isn't done she chases Roxanne off AND Roxanne's colt Dublin. I can't bring Roxanne and Dublin into the stall to feed them because Roxanne will not share her bucket with Dublin. They sure make it hard.
Below are Roxanne and Dublin.
Mark hauled wood from the shed to the porch for next week. We are suppose to be getting some frigid weather starting on Wednesday of next week. He may as well haul it while it is mild out. We sure are thankful for our wood burners. It is great to be able to stay warm and comfortable without using propane or electricity.
