Trail Ride to Ruth's

Karin had a trail ride scheduled today that left from here, did the 'death trails' and ended up at Ruth's place a mile away. Below they are just leaving the farm.  Karin rode Oksana,
 Faith rode Sally,
 Aubrey rode Cookie,
 Ava rode Missy,
 Berlica rode Bunni,
 and Rebekah rode Indy.
When they got to her house the horses were turned loose into her field while they riders helped Ruth fill Easter baskets for her grand children. They all had a really good time. We put Ripper in one of my paddocks as we didn't want to leave him by himself in the cabin field.  Karin discovered there is one strand of wire down at the cabin field.
I left for Big R in Pekin to pick up 12 bags of grain and 4 more salt blocks. I also stopped at Aldi for a few groceries since those two stores are close together. The riders came back as I was unloading the grain.  They had a very good time but the horses were all UP. It is a chilly day with a stiff breeze and all of the horses were feeling good and wanting to run.  Karin said they had some good gallops across the fields.  Oksana even let out a small buck.  After the ride Rebekah showed us what she has been doing with Irish the Gypsy filly.
She is coming along great in her training. These white horses really show the dirt and in this case the mud.
We are going to have a work day to fix fence but need to wait until the mud dries up.  Each winter we have broken boards and sometimes broken fence posts that need to be replaced and each spring we must wait. I'm not complaining about the mud, I'm thankful for the amount of rain we have had the fields are growing great. Love love love seeing that grass spring up.  Mark just worked a half a day at Meisters then came home and worked more on digging the ditch for the drainage tile in the back yard. We are trying to stop the amount of water on the drive and the tile should help direct it to the new culvert going across the road Mark and Spark put in last week.

He had to quit at 5:30 to get ready for church tonight for our special Good Friday service. David Obergfel had that service. By the time the service was over we almost felt as if we had been there watching Jesus go through the trials, the beatings, the nailing to the cross, the pain as the cross was dropped into the hole, the splinters of that rough cross hitting the nerves in His flayed open back as He would push himself up to breath. The kindness of asking John to take care of His mom. The forgiveness as he told the thief, "today you will be with me in paradise."  the love as He spoke, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." and the agony as He pleaded "why hast thou forsaken me?"  To think, He did this willingly for me.
