Phil brought out the girls and we had a good time at the playground and on the golf cart this morning. After lunch and nap time we headed out to the barn. It was 91 degrees and the barn air conditioner needed to be turned on so Eliza's filly wouldn't get over heated. There was a surprise waiting for the girls.
Emily brought one of her nanny goats home. Last year this same goat delivered quadruplets but would only care for 3 of the kids. Emily's family had to bottle feed the 4th. Emily does not believe she is expecting 4 kids this time but thinks she may have triplets. We are going to try a foaling predictor test on her to see if it would work for goats as well as mares.
Eliza's filly was nursing when the stall door was opened to show the girls. The filly leaves her mom for attention from humans.
She stood very still while the girls pet her. We were having trouble getting the air on so when Philip came to pick up the girls he came up to the barn diagnose the problem and found it almost instantly. The breaker had been turned off. Braelyn wanted to sit on Indy while she was waiting for her dad.
Emily went with Mike tonight to fix fence at Middle Grove. I put the horses out, cleaned stalls and did the night feeding.
